I don't understand why this song has become such a huge hit across the globe. It's alright, but it doesn't scream "number-one smash hit" to me.

never heard of that song or person in my life Yeah. To be honest, I only became aware of it after I randomly decided to look up the ARIA Chart about a week ago, but otherwise I wouldn't have known about it either. Country music is getting more popular now but I think it's due to inflated streaming numbers. It shouldn't be this popular but unfortunately it is. Yep, that's true.

Australia has a pop-rock song at the top of our charts! It took a while for "Beautiful Things" to grow on me, but now I think it's decent. I'm also glad that it has stopped Ariana Grande from reaching #1 here.

Thoughts on Taylor's new album? I haven't actually listened to any of the songs in full yet, but I heard a bit of "Fortnight" the other day and it sounds so bland. You can't tell me that someone would seriously want to listen to 31 songs that sound like this?! Obviously the diehard Tay Tay fans will, but still, it wouldn't be easy IMO! What's interesting too is that the album has so far divided a lot of people; all of the reviews I've read so about her new album have been negative. It definitely feels like she's finally starting to receive a bit of backlash, which to be honest, I feel is long overdue. The overexposure has become a huge problem. I also think that her tendency to stay in her comfort zone (music wise) is starting to turn people off her music as well. Apart from redoing her albums, she's essentially only been putting out the same folksy, synthpop-style albums for the past four years. I feel like she needed to experiment a bit more with this album and the decision not to might come back to haunt her eventually. I'm fully expecting this song to debut at #1 when the ARIA Charts are published tomorrow afternoon. It also wouldn't surprise me if we see all 31 songs from the album occupying the Top-50 chart placements.

^Not a fan of this kind of low energy pop. Crazy to think she was at her popularity height a decade ago in 2014 (Shake It Off, Blank Space), and she yet still makes charts records to this day!
What genre would you even call this? I'm intrigued by how weird and unexpected the Spotify charts are getting lately. It's always a surprise bag.
