A few more I dug up. It was a fun trip down memory lane! Power Stone by Capcom was first released for the Dreamcast on 25 February 1999 in Japan, now 19 years ago. It was an instant cult classic and one of the many must-have games for the Dreamcast. To many, the untraditional fighter was Super Smash Bros. before Super Smash Bros! It has an important place in gaming history. Heavy Rain by Sony made its way to Australia/New Zealand on 25 February 2010, exclusively for the PlayStation 3, now 8 years ago. The game received rave reviews and made its mark in gaming history by making room for games that focus more on cinematic and immersive experiences that draw you in, over the traditional competitive, dopamine-releasing, gameplay-focused games. Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan by Altus was released for the Nintendo 3DS on this day 26 February 2013 in North America, now 5 years ago. It was another installment of the popular dungeon-crawler Etrian Odyssey series on the Nintendo DS and received positive reviews. Its arrival in the West signalled that the 3DS was going to be a must-have system for lovers of Japanese RPGs! That's all I got for today! The day is over now on the East Coast. 26 February is a VERY important day in gaming history, I wonder who'll be able to post the goodies first!

You were so close, wobo! The Nintendo 3DS system launched in Japan on this day 26 February 2011, now 7 years ago. It was the highly anticipated successor to the best selling system of all-time ( Nintendo DS). It had a rough time out the gate as many considered the system too expensive, and the 2011 Tsunami hit Japan a few weeks afterwards. But surely enough, after releasing many quality games and drastically cutting the price, the system is now the second-best selling system of all time in Japan at 24 million sold (1 in every 6 Japanese person possibly owns one).

I've never played the Nintendo 3DS. I own a limited-edition Nintendo DS Lite. Which one is that? It looks like this. The inside is entirely black, but the outside of the console is dark blue. I got it for Christmas back in 2008.

Here are some more. Like I said, it was a really important day in gaming history! Metal Gear Solid by Konami was released for the Playstation in the United Kingdom on 26 February 1999, now 19 years ago! This stealth-based action game was one of the most revolutionary games of all time and established one of the most iconic franchises in the industry. Battle Garegga by Electronic Arts was released for the Sega Saturn in Japan on 26 February 1998, now 20 years ago! Okay, this is farthest thing from being an important game, extremely niche actually, but if you're a lover of shoot 'em ups (2D airplane shooters) like I am, you owe it to yourself to play this one! Onimusha 3 by Capcom was released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan on 26 February 2004, now 14 years ago. A sequel to the popular Devil May Cry-style beat 'em up and action-adventure series Onimusha, that received decent reviews. Definitely a must-play if you're a fan of those style of games . Ryuu Ga Gotoku 3 (Like A Dragon 3) by SEGA (better known in the West as Yakuza 3) was released for the PlayStation 3 in Japan on 26 February 2009, now 9 years ago! This gave a the ailing PlayStation 3 a huge bump sales right when it needed it in Japan! Coupled with a price cut, this sent PS3 sales soaring and the PS3's sales slump was behind it. It was the next instalment in the popular Yakuza series. You can call it the Japanese version of GTA! It's another Devil May Cry-style beat 'em up. If anyone is still paying attention, the "Ryuu" in "Ryuu Ga Gotoku" has the same meaning as the "Long" in longaotian . *Hint* *Hint*

Oh jeez, I almost forgot! Patapon by Sony was released for the PSP in North America on 26 February 2008, now 10 years ago. Lauded by IGN as "one of the best rhythm games ever released" and winning Gamespot's 2008 "Most Innovative Game" award, this refreshing game cemented at itself as a cult classic. It's pure unadulterated fun!

Today's the big day!! One of my most favourite days in gaming! Pokémon Green and Pokémon Red by Nintendo were released for the Gameboy in Japan on 27 February 1996, now 22 years ago! One of the best-selling games of all time, the second biggest gaming franchise of all time, and the biggest children's toy fad in human history all started out exactly 22 years ago! Can you believe it's so old now?
