Which decade is better or do you prefer 1990s or 2000s?

Overall, I prefer the 1990s, but I definitely prefer the early 2000s over the early 1990s.

2000s. The 00s were better for music, movies and games imo (for the most part) and both decades were pretty bad politically, although I think the 00s might have been a bit worse in this aspect. Also, i agree with #Infinity, the early 00s were wayy better than the early 90s although the opposite is true for the late parts.

Generally speaking, I prefer the '90s. The 2000s weren't entirely bad and my overall opinion on the decade has improved in recent years, but there is still so much that I dislike about the 2000s, especially when compared to the '90s. I would have preferred to experience my core childhood in the Mid-Late '90s, not the Mid-Late 2000s.

Overall, I prefer the 90s (if only for the mid-late part of it). But I’ll always have a soft spot for the earlier part of the 2000s, as I have many great memories from around the time period.

2000s, the 90s seems like a great decade to experience as a elementary school, but when it comes to teen culture and technology the 2000s beats the 90s.

Its hard for me to choose. I like both the second half of the 90's and the first half of the 00's.

90s kids disgusted me from their decade! I like many things about it, and I consider it as a general big improvement over the 80s in many ways which I'm not a big fan of. But I gonna go with MY decade cuz I can, so the 2000s

Early 2000's > Early 90's Mid-90's = Mid-2000's Late 90's > Late 2000's

I prefer the '90s. My favourite decade for video games. The aesthetic/fashion is also a lot better.

I would say that the Early 2000s was better than the Early 90s and the Mid 90s were better than the mid 2000s. So i think the 2000s wouod be better technology wise and pop culturally with 90s being better in music and hip hop.

Well, it's about an even split. If I'd have had most of my teenage years in the 90s I could have maybe seen bands that were popular then or bands popular in the 2000s BEFORE they got super famous. It had a good music atmosphere. I would have also experienced the grunge era and could have experimented with 90s alternative fashion.
2000s was hands down better for gaming.

In regards to choosing one decade over the other, I feel as though the 2000s have the greater potential to alienate people, due to how commercialised/glamorised pop culture was for the majority of the decade. The '90s were arguably driven more by substance and a progression of pop cultural values. The 2000s, on the other hand, saw an increased emphasis on image and "shock-value", as evident by the release of songs such as "Gimme More" (due to it's sexualised music video/lyrical themes), "Buttons" and "Me Against The Music" (where Britney Spears and Madonna kiss each other on the lips).
To add on from that, a lot of the pop culture from the 2000s was heavily skewed towards kids/teens and if someone didn't have much of an interest in unique '00s trends such as the Emo scene and crunk/snap-rap, I can easily see why they would have a general distaste of the decade.
