Why is that, just out of curiosity? The noughties gave me bands like Editors, Bloc Party, The Subways and suchlike, the nineties get slated a fair bit but there were some great bands besides R.E.M like Milltown Brothers, Railway Children, Field Mice, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and so on so yeah, I'd kind of defend the nineties. Ah okay, that's interesting to hear. The alternative/indie music scene was a lot better during the '90s than it was during the naughties IMO, so I can understand why you would lean more towards the '90s overall.

90s easily!!!! 90s were the best. But I would prefer 00s technology tho. Late 90s were the best. I love that time. Come BACK 90s, miss u!!!

In terms of purely pop culture, mid-to-late 2000s win by a landslide. In terms of world affairs, I'd take the '90s over basically any decade.
But gaming this decade is far away better than either decade, which I know falls outside the scope of this discussion but poo on you.

I've been ultra nostalgic for the '90s lately. The 2000s just doesn't have the same kind of magic.

The 2000s, easily. Not holding my bias, its my home decade. The 00s is phenomenal, has that whole millennium magic touch to it, classic technology and the sound quality is generally timeless.

In terms of world affairs, I'd take the '90s over basically any decade. Dear god no, the passive and lax attitude that reigned supreme during that time is exactly what caused the many problems afterwards. The Rwanda genocide for instance empitomizes everything wrong with that era. There should be a middle ground.

The 90s are very overrated. Its a solid decade, but it isn't one of the best things that happened to the solar system.

Although tbh I actually do see the '90s receive quite a bit of hate. Often ive seen/heard people trash the '90s - especially when discussing pop culture such as music from the three decades prior ('60s-'80s). IIRC @mamafrankie says something exactly like this aswell.

Is 1995-2004 an option? Middle ground and my favorite part of each decade lol.
