I'm sorry if the title or my post doesn't make much sense, because it's a bit hard to describe in words. Do you ever listen to a certain song and then think of the context surrounding the song's release? In other words, when you listen to a certain song, does it make you think of the era in which the song was released and then how things have changed since the release of the song? Here is an example of it:
For some reason, the ending of this song really stands out for me. To me, it's almost as if this song is a representation of the closing chapter of rock music in the mainstream. Maybe it's simply because of how the song slowly fades as the couple enjoy each other's company in the car, however it just feels as though it's the end of an era. "Check Yes Juliet" is synonymous with 2011 for me, because that's when the song was released as a single here in Australia and 2011 was the last year rock was still a mainstream movement.
