There are instances where songs can remind you of times in your life, even if you don't actually like the songs. What are some songs from your core childhood (ages 5-10) that you dislike, but give you a strong sense of nostalgia when you listen to them? I experienced my core childhood between 2004 - 2009. If there's one benefit to experiencing my core childhood in the Mid 2000s, it's that I can easily think of a fair few songs that I dislike. To be honest, I actually found it really hard to think of two songs from 2009, because with the exception of "Boom Boom Pow", there aren't really any other songs that I particularly dislike. {Spoiler}

This? But that was from the year you were born. It definitely isn't from my childhood, because it was released before I was even born. Still doesn't change the fact that it's an ordinary song though.

Yes, I know. I was deciding whether to include it for me or not. There’s definitely a bit of nostalgia from my childhood associated with this overrated song. It was still very popular and constantly played on the radio in the mid to late 90s. There’s also the fact that my mum owned the CD to it which got played from time to time.

There’s also the fact that my mum owned the CD to it which got played from time to time. That's fair enough. I actually feel much the same way about some songs from the Late '90s, since they were still regularly played on radio during the Early-Mid 2000s. So your Mum is partly responsible for you liking Billy-Ray Cyrus? Someone should have destroyed the CD before you started to listen to it.

I've just finished listening to this song. It's the first time that I have listened to it in years. I can actually remember when "Black Parade" was released and I hated it at the time (I still don't particularly like it), but listening to it made me feel extremely nostalgic for 2006. It's great how some songs can instantly remind you of certain periods in your life.

Coldplay fans hated it for being #1 instead of their latest single. Becky and Zac (two of my family members) loved his music. And it’s just gained 1 billion views, which proves the CF fans are still around.

You were probably too young to remember (since I assume you were born in 2004), but Crazy Frog was massively popular at the time of it's release. You could even buy Crazy Frog toys in Happy Meals from McDonalds.

On the McDonalds toy topic, They did sell music clips in 2006 in many European countries, and CF was one of them. Here’s the French ad:
SharksFan99, can you tell me about your CF toy and if it was one of these?

Since your username has the year 2004 in it, I just assumed that's when you may have been born. Yeah it was, actually! It was very similar to that anyway.

I used to LOVE him as a kid and my sister would call me whenever his music videos were on MTV 😁.

For a short time during 2005, Crazy Frog was pretty much inescapable. There were SMS ads which would air on TV advertising the song as a ringtone. A lot of people had "Axel F" as their ringtone; it's popularity could easily be compared with the old Nokia ringtone that many people had. Like I said earlier, you could also get Crazy Frog MP3 toys in McDonalds Happy Meals (at least here in Australia, anyway). I can still remember the moment when I got one from the Macca's at South Nowra and me and my cousins played the Crazy Frog song in our Grandparent's car all the way home.

Just MP3 toys of popular artists, and one was the Crazy Frog song (Axel F) if you read the description.
