We have a "What is your religion" thread, but it wasn't actually based on attending church or church, in general. How often do you go to church? I have only ever been to a church on two occasions. The first occasion was when I was christened as a 3-month old, which I obviously don't have any memories of. The other occasion was when my Grandma passed away eleven years ago and the funeral service was held at the local church.

I used to go to church more often when I was a kid, but only cause of my parents. Particularly my mom, who's a religious person. Now as an adult, I've become agnostic and don't really care much for religion. Last time I went to church, was just to accompany my mom so she wouldn't have to go by herself lol.
I generally don't like churches or the atmosphere it emits. I always feel extremely out of place, specially being part of the LGBT+ community.
I'm fully aware not all religious people are against the LGBT+ community, but my mom's church definitely is, lol.

I don't go to church, I used to when I was younger though. The last year I went to church every Sunday was 2009.

My family (so naturally I used) to go once or twice a year when I was younger. Not these days though. I can’t remember the last time I did to be honest!

I went to church a couple times with my grandparents between the ages 4-6. It was pretty boring. Other than that, my Step Mother used to be a preschool teacher at a church and I would occasionally go with her on weekdays during the summer when nobody was there.

I had to go to Sunday school, church, and bible study up until the end of eighth grade. Religion is something I grew up with but I don't feel a connection to it anymore (not that I ever really did to be honest) so I don't go.

Did you decide yourself not to attend Sunday School, church and bible study after the end of eighth grade, or did your parents simply stop forcing you to go at that point in time?

My parents are Muslim so I guess the equivalent question is "how often do you go to mosque?" I'm only shamed into going twice a year during the two major holidays. I gusss it's the equivalent of Catholics who go only during Christmas and Easter mass. It was worse when I was younger. I had to go every week and had Saturday/Sunday school too, although that was mostly to learn my mother tongues and Math/science tutoring, but religious instruction was mixed in too. I never had any days off as a kid except during holidays and summer, or if I begged hard enough for a day off. Thankfully, when I was 13 and started high school, it stopped. My mom tried to force me to keep going, but I said no, and my dad let me off.

I minimally go to church. The only times I ever went to one was when my grandma was being praised for being a minister. Everyone she knew, including my family, was there that day.

I occasionally go to this one small non-denominational church on Saturday evening, but only because the nearest preferential church for me is up in Boulder, which is a Swedenborgan/New Church.
If a Swedenborgan/New Church were in my area, I'd be going every Saturday evening.
