I experience racism a lot in school. In the beginning of my freshman year I was told to go back to Asia and was told to stay away from dogs. On the last day of school in 8th grade a group of guys in the bathroom said I had a small Asian d*ck so I couldn’t f*ck. A senior last year at lunch shoved me and said “move Chinese bitch”. I almost got in a physical fight with a kid at the store who shouted racial slurs at me.

Goodness, that's awful. Have you reported these incidences? My dad stopped me from fighting with the kid at the store. He had a talk with the kids parents and got in trouble and was forced to apologize. I have not reported the others

Damn, I'm so sorry man. It's such a disheartening thing to know racism is still around.
As a POC myself, I don't experience racism since I still live in my native island. I'm from the Caribbean, so I'm among my people. But my family and I are planning to move somewhere in the states soon, so I'm pretty worried and nervous about the change, specially the racism.
I worry most for my dad, who has very broken English.

I'm sorry to hear about that prodanny288 . I have no respect for individuals who are racist towards other people. It's an awful thing and it's absolutely disgraceful that there are still a lot of people out there who act in such a manner. As for myself, I've personally never experienced any form of racism. Although, I do know what it's like to experience it. One of my best friends is of Chinese descent and he occasionally receives derogatory comments about his ancestry. There were a few kids at school who used to make stereotypical remarks, such as him being good at playing the piano because of "being Asian" and that he always "squints". Damn, I'm so sorry man. Thanks for sharing a bit of information about yourself. I hope the move to the United States goes well for you and your family. I'm from Australia, so unfortunately I can't describe what it's like to live in America. However, I don't think racism will be an issue. The United States is a very multicultural country and it embraces people from all different cultural backgrounds. You'll be fine.

As much as I appreciate the sentiment, it's sad to say that despite the diversity, racism is still a huge thing, specially in the states. There's still a lot of hatred towards all types of minorities, marginalized groups, LGBT+, etc.
Racism in particular, doesn't have to be violent or verbal, it can be invisible and silent. Either way, I'm hoping to blend in with the right crowd once I move. I want to meet other people, kind people.
I still have hope of course, there's still a lot, lot of good people. Hopefully those good people outweigh the bad.
