Next Saturday marks the 11th anniversary of "Earth Hour", an annual event where members of the public are encouraged to switch off their lights between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. Yet, despite this years event vast approaching, there has been no media coverage for the event and it's fair to suggest that the majority of people are simply unaware of it. Why is this the case?
Back in the Late 2000s, a lot of people used to take part in it. My Mum and I used to walk through our housing estate and notice all of the houses which had switched their lights off. Heck, even the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House were darkened at the time. I really don't understand why most people no longer choose to take part in it.
