I'm not sure if I would actually go and see it or not, but the concept of the movie is interesting anyway. Yeah, admittedly it's not a movie I'd go out of my way to watch but the review did remind me of this thread!

Well that's interesting. Granted I wasn't in the 8th grade in the late 2010s, but still.... It probably wouldn't be too dissimilar from your own experiences though would it, because you would have been in the 8th grade in 2016?

The movie seems interesting and sweet! I think I can relate (Is 8th Grade Yr 8 in Aus?) Lit/Dabbing wasn't a thing and not everyone was glued to their phones but social media was still a big thing...

I think so, but over in the US, i'm pretty sure the 8th Grade is the last year of middle school (someone from the US will have to clarify that though ). I'm not sure if experiencing middle school is really comparable to experiencing high school here in Australia, but it's hard to say. As for myself personally, I can't really relate to the movie, to be honest. The only thing I can really relate with is the fact that smartphones were commonplace by the time I was in Year 8, which was back in 2013.
