First Stylistically 70's Song: The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup (1968) It's interesting that you should mention that, because I've always thought that "Build Me Up Buttercup" stylistically has more in common with the '70s.

Really? I actually think that song is slightly behind its time, that it fits in best with the mid-'60s, certainly not the 1970s. It has a pretty simple, straightforward '60s soul sound and frankly reminds me a ton of The Supremes' "Baby Love" from 1964. Even though there were more than a few brass-heavy swing-pop songs in the '70s, the production of "Build Be Up Buttercup" is still very '60s.

2010s:It's still too early to determine whic. "Filthy" - Justin Timberlake While it's success on the charts was relatively short-lived, "Filthy" may one day be remembered for introducing audiences to electro-funk Nah, that honor goes to Daft Punk who succesfully mixed various styles of Funk and Disco with House music in their Random Access Memory album, which was a huge succes nonetheless. The only thing new about it was trying to combine funk sensibilities with Brostep's wub wub bass. And in that regard it's quite behind its time considering wub wubstep is more of an early 2010s fad.
