I'd much rather have a real pet  I agree. Do you have any pets? I own an 11 year old Golden Labrador and a 2-year old staffy-cross. Two cats. Easy to look after. They never ask me to take them out for a walk

IMO, being able to take your dog for a walk is actually one of the benefits of owning one. Cats don't even like to bond with their owners.  I have only ever owned one cat during my lifetime and I don't think I would ever want to own another one, to be honest.

Can you remember which characters you had?  ... After that I would always get Kuchipatchi or Mimitchi, I think a few times I had Gozarutchi or Memetchi  ... I wanted Mametchi because the teen looked cute but I couldn't figure how to get it for some reason Haha, right. I was clearly lucky as I got Mametchi quite a few times for the short period I had the original one for. I think I got Kunchipstchi a few times also. I think it’s more that cats are much more independent and like to do their own thing and like to wander off whereas dogs tend to not go far and like to stay closer to their owners. You also can’t really keep them contained indoors/backyard like you can with dogs, of course. Btw, nice pictures @shades . I have actually never owned a cat before as I am more of a dog person, but I have had friends that do and they also have dogs and they both get along pretty well together surprisingly!

I have been trying to think of another dog virtual pet I once owned and just as I had given up I found it earlier : “Giga Pet Digital Doggie” which was released by Tiger Electronics in the late-90s. These weren’t as good as the Tamagotchis but the dog was soooo cute!

Aaww, lucky you ... I was just reading through the character list and I miss all the stuff like going to work and the shop and matchmaking and even TamaTown, now I want to get a v4 again Haha, yup! Soo times that’s for sure. What about the Digimon virtual pets? Did you own any of them also?
Haha nope, I didn't really hear about them, I think only Tamagotchi was popular at least around my school Were they similar?

Unfortunately, all of mine are long gone as from memory they broke and were thrown away.  Oh okay. Yeah, they were kinda similar. You raised them just like with the normal Tamagotchis but you could do other things also like battles with other people via the pressing of connection contacts on the devices. Both Tamagotchis and Digimons were hugely popular at my primary school back in the day.

did you buy the re-releases? Yup, I think you are right. I could probably still buy the ones I had while growing up on eBay and other second-hand sites, but I don’t see the point as I think I’m way past using them these days to be quite honest.
