How do you think this will affect Nickelodeon?
Do you believe that shows from the 90's will still survive after around 2004 or so?
Will older Nick shows still have reruns?

Nickelodeon probably wouldn't be in as good of a financial position, had Spongebob never been created. Apart from that though, I don't think the channel would be too different in such a scenario. Shows such as Rugrats, CatDog and The Wild Thornberrys likely still would have ended around the same time.

Nickelodeon would probably shutdown maybe after 2009 and try to stay as a company my selling slime or Gak or Nick show' s merchandie and toys and there wouldn't be a defining 2000s children/cartoon show.

Hmm, i'm not sure if Nickelodeon would actually shut down. It probably still would have existed in the 2010s, however it wouldn't have been as successful, in my opinion.

It wouldnt really matter despite it is one of Nick's longest running shows, but shows all cancel eventually. Some that cancel would return back, like Bunk'd was supposed to be cancelled after summer 2018, but they brought the show back for another season in 2019.

Since SpongeBob wouldn't be the channel's cash cow franchise, they'd have to look elsewhere. It's likely we'd get a few different shows be accepted to the network that were declined in real life as part of their hunt for that mega-smash hit. It's even possible Avatar: The Last Airbender would've been more influential to the network's style as a whole, as its success wouldn't be overshadowed by SpongeBob and Nickelodeon would do well depending on more shows like it. A lot of their newer cartoons in real life seem like failed attempts to recreate the magic of SpongeBob.

I think the original series of "Rugrats" would have lasted a lot longer had "Spongebob" never existed, because it essentially still had the mantle of being Nickelodeon's 'tentpole' show at the time "Spongebob" premiered in May 1999.

Man, imagine a world in which Avatar: TLA was the smash hit it deserved to be, and LoK wasn't obsessively meddled with by Nick executives. We might've gotten a much better show for the latter.

I think Nick wouldn't be very relevant as it would be with Spongebob. Plus we'd miss out on all of the amazing episodes that caused the show to take off.

Fairly Odd Parents lasted for sixteen years, and at the time, they had shows like Back at the Barnyard, Mighty B, Fanboy and Chum Chum, and Tuff Puppy. However, I feel like today's kids are losing interest in animated shows and prefer seeing real people.

It would've been fine through the 2000's purely because there weren't that many competing children's networks. Even as it was, the channel didn't have the same ubiquity it had the decade prior. The fact that Spongebob dominated the network to the degree that it eventually did was almost to its detriment IMO. Thanks to YouTube becoming a primary source of kids shows for the past five plus years, it is possible they'd be struggling now a bit without some truly iconic characters.

I still think it was pretty influential in its own right. I was never a fan of it, but it was hugely popular among people my age.
