All I have to say is if Spongebob never aired on Nickelodeon, it would have less success than Cartoon Network. Yes you had Rugrats, Hey Arnold and All That which are quintessential Nickelodeon shows, but Spongebob seems to be the epicenter of all nickelodeon shows. Moreover, nick would be less successful as a network comparing with Cartoon Network which had Powerpuff Girls, Courage, Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab and just so many other classics. Plus, the show influenced countless amounts of animated shows.

Nick would have been in trouble because Toonami was Cartoon Network's cash cow and the popularity of Dragon Ball Z was so huge that Kids WB ! rebranded to Toonami from July 2001 - Summer 2002 you heard it right there was 2 Toonami blocks on TV one on CN and one on Kids WB ! Nick would have been destroyed. They are lucky they had Spongebob as their new cash cow, they are lucky it took off and they also had Drake & Josh in the pipeline which also saved their ass.
