Because everybody talks about how good the 90s are these days. Did the 90s get hate back then like the 2010s do now?

I can't speak from personal experience, although i'm sure there would have been a lot of people who disliked the decade at the time, especially if they enjoyed '80s pop culture.

I've seen a lot of people say they disliked the 90s at the time, like how people dislike the 2010s right now.

Yes a lot of people disliked the '90s in the '90s and well into the early-mid 2000s as well.

Of course. Every decade has people who hate the decade while they are in that decade.
Also, many people believed that the '90s was the "beginning of the end" for the USA.

Look at the inthe00s archives and you'll see some of this stuff: *"You cannot compare 1990-1996 with the 00's" *"Anything from 1990-1995 is strictly for X and anything from 1996-1999 is absolutely Y" *"1990-1996 was perfect, 1997-1998 was when things started to go downhill, and 1999+ is complete trash" Throughout the mid 00's you would have a lot of people talking about how 1997 was that year where everything started to become garbage, with some even saying that it was more like 2005 than 1995. I'll admit it, I'm not a fan of teen pop, but saying that 1997 felt a lot closer to 2005 than 1995 is absolutely ridiculous.

Inthe00s is a nostalgia forum so it's not surprising you'd see posts like that on there. We got "everything was great up until 2006/2007" posts on there in 2015 as well, but most people IRL didn't like any part of the 2000s in 2015 (except pre-9/11).

I just found this thread from 1998 talking about how hip-hop in the 80's was better. groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!searchin/alt.rap/80$27s|sort:date/alt.rap/vk960iyOCck/VmIU6HMgc14J (You're going to have to copy and paste it all instead of clicking it)

It was good to be able to read people's opinions from twenty years ago.
