I was just jokingly telling her not to start a debate because most of my friends have gotten into screaming matches over this topic. Didn't mean for my post to come off as aggressive.

Water isn't wet, in my opinion, because you can't wet something if the substance remains the same. If you poured a glass of water onto a puddle, the surface tension of the puddle isn't going to change. It's just going to expand the puddle.

In my opinion, it is wet. Imagine a black box, you cannot see what's inside it, and you are asked to stick your hand inside it. It's wet. The box is full of water and the only word that can be used to describe what you're feeling is "wet", ergo water is wet.

What your feeling is that you're hand has become wet because of the water, doesn't meant the water itself is wet.

Your hand would become wet, but the water itself wouldn't change.

Naw, if you were asked to describe what was in there, saying "something wet" would be a perfectly valid description.
