So, the fact that 2010 was 8 years ago is shocking! :X The most common smartphones in 2010 were the iPhone (which was 8GB, I think) and blackberry phones. There was no Instagram, Snapchat or even Pinterest is 2010 dated technologically to you?

Yes, 2010 is slightly dated technologically. Nothing drastic though.
It's not as drastic as 2000 tech vs 2008 tech.

I believe 2010 is noticeably outdated. Blackberries and slider-phones were still popular for most of the year. Heck, even flip phones were still used by some people. If you watch episodes of Sons of Anarchy and Criminal Minds from 2010, you'll notice that some of the characters on the shows were using them.

Yeah, 2010 was a big transition period from dumbphones to smartphones. Most people didn't have an iphone but had an ipod touch, Android phones were getting popular and the birth of 4G LTE. 2010 definitely set the tone for what was to come in this decade.

Smartphones(i'm not talking about feature phones) weren't the norm. That alone is a big difference.

I’d say 9 to 11 (soon to be 12) years difference between 2010 and 2021 going on 2022 in terms of technological gap.
Back then, digital cameras, Blackberries, slider and dumb phones were still commonly used. Phones kept the skeuomorphic and maximalist look, despite flat and minimalistic design coming in. Most app interfaces were still for desktops. Touch screen smartphones were just starting to catch on.
Social media was mostly limited to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter as Instagram wasn’t around for most of the year. Myspace was dead. Zoom, Snapchat and Vine didn’t exist yet.
Stores like Hollywood Videos for the early part of 2010, Blockbuster, Toys R Us at least in the U.S. and Borders Bookstores were all still open. Cable TV was still relevant and so was 7th generation gaming. 2010 could possibly be the peak of 7th generation gaming.
The YouTube videos and footage from 2010 hasn’t aged that well. They’re starting to look laughably outdated with the slightly grainy quality.
2010 is starting to look like a different world. Even though 2010 was the first-full year to lean 2010s culturally, politically and economically, it was still barely removed from the late 2000s.
2010 isn’t 100% removed from 2021, but I’m not going to say that 2010 is modern, contemporary and still yesterday-like.

SharksFan99, I badly want slider-phones to make a comeback during this new decade. They were cool.

Some of our PC's from 2011 are still working fine, and heck, we even still use our TV from 2010 on a daily basis.
However, there are drones, hoverboards, Virtual Reality, and everything is pretty much wireless now. Smartphones from 2010 feel antique today.
