i'm 13 years old and only 5'0 short and i still have a high pitched voice that sounds like a freakin 9 year old and nobody will ever take me seriously and i really hate it. it pisses me off when ppl think i'm like 9 when i'm really 13 and a teen already...i really wish i had my growth spurt earlier so i could look more grown like the other dudes in my grade. its so unfair my brother had a deep voice when he was in 7th grade and i'm in 7th grade right now and ppl think i'm still in fuckin elementary school. i look so babyish i really want to start looking more grown up this is so annoying. i feel like such a baby around my brother because hes only 3 years older than me and hes almost freakin 6 ft tall and his voice is really deep...and then theres me..a fuckin 13 year old who still looks 9 and it sucks so much.i cant wait until i have my growth spurt and look more like a man

Ok, first of all stop beating yourself over it. Second, dont compare yourself to other people. You will only feel worst trust me. You do not have the same genetics and lifestyle as your classmates or brother. You are only 13 so you have all the time to grow and develop. Dont have such a pessimistic view on things. You will grow and look older one day trust me. If you want to talk, pm me anytime

I don't know why you're comparing yourself to your brother, to be honest. He's 16 and has been going through puberty for a while now. Meanwhile, you are barely a teenager and still in middle school and in your early teens. I agree with Khal. You need to stop comparing yourself to other people. Everyone's different and you may just have hit it a lot later than usual. As for the topic itself, I've never actually been told that I've looked younger or older than my actual age. I'm 5'4 and a half and I turn 16 in June.

I'm 18 and I've had people thinking I was around 23-24 years of age.
Ironically, I'm only about 5'6 (168 cm).

It's okay, you won't look 9 years old forever unless you're The Orphan.

I am the same age as you. I started puberty a couple years ago. I had a growth spurt in the middle of 2017 in that I grew from 5'3 to 5'6 (current height) in half a year. I have yet to hear from someone tell me I look younger or older than I really am.
You're a male, right? (judging by your username) guys start puberty a little later than girls. That is completely normal.

You remind me of a former student at my middle school. He was a short 8th grader, around your height, maybe a little shorter. He was bony and his voice was high pitched. He was labeled as "the baby of the school" due to his striking similarities to that of an 8 y/o. Thanks to his youthful appearance, substitute teachers didn't know he was in middle school, he had to convince them he was the same age as his classmates, who was inches taller than him. By the way, how old is your brother?

That is definitely the epitome of an older brother kind of teasing. I can relate. I have a sister who is a decade older than me. Before she lived on her own, she patronized me all the time. She would tell stories about her childhood in the early 2000s and looked down on me for missing out. Sorta like how 90s kids treat 2000s+ kids basically.

Your parents are young. My parents were born in the early 70s. They don't usually reminisce about the 80s or 90s. They're too busy for nostalgia.
