This is something that I have been curious about for quite a while. Is David Attenborough well-known in North America? For instance, if you were to ask an everyday American who David Attenborough is, would they know? In case you're wondering who he is, he is an English broadcaster and naturalist, best known for his animal and natural history documentaries. He has been regarded as one of the greatest broadcasters of all time. The reason why I ask, is because his work seems to be critically acclaimed by people from the majority of countries around the world, yet I have never seen him referenced by the American or Canadian media, or by the North American public alike.

He's like a household name here He is here as well. That's why I find it really strange that he is unheard of in America and Canada.

I guess his reach doesn't go beyond Oceania.

I guess his reach doesn't go beyond Oceania. I'm not sure about that. He is considered a national treasure in his home country (England) and he is a household name in many parts of the world. I think he's just unheard of in North America.
