Inspired by the Mid 2000s vs Mid 2010s thread, which era do you think was a better time for music? As for me, I definitely enjoyed the pop songs of the early 2010's, but I also really think the mid-2010's had overall catchier hip-hop IMO, but I personally think that 2011 was the best year for music in this decade so far, with all the music genre's that I love. I also really liked 2012 as well. Meanwhile, I personally thought 2014 had the worst songs. It was Iggy Azalea's peak and when Anaconda was a very popular song. If I had to pick, I'd go with the early 2010's.

I prefer the Early 2010s, although neither era is great IMO.

Definitely the early 2010s. They were repetitive and formulaic, but nonetheless lively, melodious, spunky, and carefree. 2014 was a decent year for music, but 2015 and especially 2016 were dull, miserable times for music. So far, the late 2010s are proving a remarkable step up from the wretchedness of the mid-2010s.

I'm voting Mid 2010s.
For one, my personal life, the early 2010s were an absolute low point for me, the mid 2010s on the other hand were a high point. Middle school (2009-2012) was horrendous, worst years of my life by far. But then freshman year came, and it was a major improvement for my personal life. Then came sophomore year, which was hands down the best school year of my life, a total polar opposite to where my life was only a couple years prior. Junior year was fun, but it's also a pretty infamous year for me, by then my ego was getting out of control, I started flirting with every girl, arguing with my friends and treating them badly, getting on the nerves of the teachers I'd normally get along well with, I thought I was Jesus Christ, and it tainted and almost ended a few friendships of mine. Senior year was also fun, though pretty quiet for me since a lot of my friends had graduated and I wasn't there full day anymore.
For two, it was in the mid '10s when Adam Gontier, the former vocalist of Three Days Grace, got back in a band, called Saint Asonia. Also, it was in the mid '10s when Alestorm released "Sunset on the Golden Age", aka their best album of all time in my opinion;

Voting mid-2010s, as it is when my interest in music peaked since the late 2000s, the first year of my music resurgence being 2013.

I like early 2010s better. I did not like music from mid 2010s.
