Did anyone watch the coverage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding? I watched about ten minutes worth of it (namely the part when Meghan Markle was about to enter St George's Chapel), but then I switched channels.

Didn't watch it. It doesn't really appeal to me.

Funnily enough, I was painting a wall earlier tonight and got distracted by it. Hmmm..... oh well. I’m sure I’ll catch up with all the goss in tomorrow’s news!

Watching paint dry comes to mind. £53m out of the public coffers, money can be better used elsewhere. Of course they could have said, nah we don't want all that fuss and attention, let's keep it low-key and have a jolly up at Maccy D's afterwards. But they didn't. Funny that.

I didn't care about the royal wedding either, to be honest. I only watched ten minutes of it, because there was literally nothing else on.

I personally didn't care for the Royal Wedding at all so didn't really watch it, but from all reports about the Australian TV coverage...
*Seven did well by having Michael Usher & Melissa Doyle front the coverage. Can someone make these two the main Sydney 6pm newsreaders already? *Nine's coverage could've done with a bit of Peter Overton. Surely he would've been a better presenter than Karl Stefanovic anyway? *Ten's ratings for their "alternative programing" were very poor and perhaps an all time low. Apparently they were running coverage on TenDaily, so why wasn't this on the main channel? In 2018, alternative programing should be left for multichannels IMO!

I guess you could make the argument that Ten are simply catering for the growing demand/interest in streaming services, although it still doesn't excuse the fact that the programming on the main channel was of poor standard.

Not directly related to the Royal Wedding, but Kensington Palace has announced within the past hour that Meghan Markle is pregnant. The baby is expected to be due in the Spring of 2019.

That's the Northern Hemisphere Spring, so our Autumn - I'm sure all the women's magazines & breakfast/mid-morning programs will be delighted! It'll be an extremely busy time for news from a Sydney/NSW perspective though, with our next State & Federal Elections (which IMO have far wider reaching implications than a woman giving birth, but that's a debate for another time) expected to sometime happen around then.
