I listened to the White Album and Abbey Road in their entirety earlier this evening, which inspired me to create a thread based on this topic. What is your favourite Beatles album and why? I know their earliest albums were repackaged and reissued as separate releases in the United States, but for the sake of this thread, i'm going to stick with the UK studio album releases for the poll.
My Dad is a massive Beatles fan, so I've listened to all of their albums over the years. My favourite Beatles album would have to be the White Album. Every track off the album is great and it contains a diverse range of musical influences.

I don't have one because I believe that The Smiths were more important in music than the fab four.
I might like a couple of songs and generally speaking they are endearing to most, I just didn't believe the hype.

Just out of curiosity, RockyMountainExtreme , do you have a favourite Beatles album? I know you like a lot of '60s and '70s rock, so i'm interested to hear your opinion on this topic. I'm not disagreeing with you, I am just interested to hear your opinion on it. That's understandable. To be honest, I personally believe their universal acclaim is a genuine reflection of their work, although I can see why some people might disagree. There has never been a "perfect" band as such and every artist/band releases material which is not up to the same standard as their other releases. However, if there was ever a band that would come close to being close to perfection, it would have to be The Beatles IMO.

Mine is definitely Sgt. Peppers, no question. I actually consider one of, if not, THE best album of all time, in fact it's rated that by Rolling Stone magazine. Sgt. Peppers is an absolute masterpiece, especially the middle songs of that album. The beautiful baroque melody in "She's Leaving Home", the Victorian circus vibe of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" that reminds me of Magic Town from the original Sims, the Indian melody of "Within You Without You", and the late 19th early 20th century ragtime inspired "When I'm Sixty-Four" are absolutely phenomenal, both the songs themselves, and how the album jumps from style to style, yet they all compliment the album perfectly. The other songs on that album are also very good as well. Plus, it has the least amount of love songs out of any Beatles album, and even the romantic songs that are on there are a far cry from your typical "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" or "All You Need Is Love".

Definitely White Album for me, such an amazing mess of all different sorts of inspirations and groundbreaking Pop-Rock weirdness ("Wild Honey Pie" comes to mind). It also features the Beatles casually getting into Heavy Metal territory before it even was a thing.

Considering the fact that it's a double album, it's amazing that the White Album is at such a high-quality for it's entirety.
