We had a thread based on this topic in The Debate Forum, however the topic does not feature a poll. I was just curious to see how many people agreed/disagreed with the idea that water is wet. Personally, I don't think water itself is wet. Something that is "wet", is just a sensation felt when you touch a liquid substance. For instance, if you put your hand in a glass of water, your hand would become wet. The water itself would not be wet.

One gets wet from contact with water ergo water is wet.

Water is what makes you wet. The water itself isn't wet IMO. I mean, are you really going to pour more water into a cup of water and say "The water is getting wet"

Thread ideas:
"Is butter a carb?" "Is mayonnaise an instrument?" "Is dick a carb?"

Thread ideas: "Is butter a carb?" "Is mayonnaise an instrument?" "Is dick a carb?" Is fire burning?

Water is wet. Butter is mostly fat. Mayonnaise is not an instrument. Dick I believe is mostly protein. Fire is burning.

To say that water is not necessarily wet just because it makes things wet is a jolly good argument!
