Eesh
If you care so much about "continuing the bloodline" just donate your sperm (or your eggs, if you're a lady) to a cryobank

“zillennials” aren’t a real thing. zillennials, as theyre defined on reddit, are just late millennials imo. also the zillennial cult on reddit is just insufferable so i won’t give them the satisfaction of having their own little private club

But if I had an only child and they said they didn't want kids, couldn't have them or came out as gay, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be at least somewhat disappointed. I can understand how you would feel a bit disappointed in that scenario, but on the other hand, I think it's best to respect the wishes of the child. Speaking as an only child myself, I have always felt as though I am under pressure to settle down and have kids so that my parents can have grandchildren. I have spoken to my Mum about it in the past and she said she would be okay if I decided not to have kids and while that is comforting to know, I still can't help but have that feeling nagging at the back of my mind. i know this is a very old post but i agree. i’m not an only child but i agree there’s too much pressure on children to please their parents in general. children shouldn’t exist to please their parents or fill a void in their life. you can’t just expect that your kids will give you grandkids. and their wishes should be put before yours, as they’re the ones responsible for the child
