I raised the idea of possibly creating a blog/journal board in this thread. Just out of curiosity, do you think there should be a blog/journal board on Popedia? If most people are supportive of the idea, we can implement it on the forum. I personally think implementing a blog/journal board could be worthwhile. If we had a blog/journal board, we could have journal-based threads (similar to the thread grimmy created), where we would detail things that happen in our lives and our progress in trying to achieve certain goals (e.g fitness goals, trying to stop a habit etc.). We could also move the "How are you feeling right now?" and "How was your day?" threads to the new board, as well as possibly making the "Ask Me, Ask Me" section a sub-board of the new blog/journal board. I think the new board would be a great way for all of us to get to know each other more and it would add more of a personal touch to the forum. What do you think of the idea?

Honestly, no, and it's because I don't think the idea would necessarily fit in with a forum based mostly on pop culture. I can see the introduce yourself board being a thing because it's just members saying hello and that they're new to the forum. The happy birthday subboard is a nice one to wish other members a quick happy birthday. I don't really get the point in the "Check this out" subboard. It's basically like an advertising subboard and it's not that active. I also don't think the blog/journal board would be active either because let's be real here, very little people on here are going to care about things that are happening in your life unless they're extremely dangerous or whatever.

If I said my mum died I would prolly get pages of responses, but if I said I was getting married tomorrow the most I’d prolly get is 4 😭

Only two other people responded to it. I'm not sure if it was because of the sub-forum it was in or just the fact that not a lot of people really cared. Hell, it could've been both.

I appreciate your honesty and I can definitely see your point. It may not relate with the pop-culture focus of the forum, but there are existing sub-boards which are arguably unrelated to the focus of Popedia, such as "The Debate Forum". I personally think the idea of establishing a blog/journal board has merit, because it would bring the forum community closer together and we would get to know each other more. You're right, it probably won't be a very active board, however I think it would ultimately benefit Popedia in a number of ways. That's just my own personal opinion. Anyway, a blog/journal board is not set in stone. It all depends on what the Popedia community think of the idea and whether it should go ahead or not. I still need to talk with the moderators about the idea of a blog/journal board (I have only heard from @slowpoke1993 so far). As for the "Bad News" thread you created, maybe a lot of people simply didn't see it? To be honest, I only came across it almost 12 hours after you made the thread and that was only because I viewed the "Recent Posts" feature on the homepage. I'm not sure how most people on here discover new threads/posts. It's quite possible that a lot of people weren't aware of it.

Actually, if you think about it, the debate forum is actually somewhat related to pop culture. That sub-forum usually has some threads that debate about things going on in the world. Like current events. It still could possibly be related to pop culture in a way.
