What do you think of your birth year? Do you like some of the songs, tv shows or movies that were released during it? 1999:Favourite songs: * "Higher" by Creed * "Push It" by Static-X * Silverchair's Neon Ballroom album (it was released just five days before I was born ) * "Kryptonite" by 3 Doors Down. * "Take a Picture" by Filter Favourite Movies: * The Green Mile * Stuart Little & Toy Story 2 (I liked those movies when I was a kid ) Interesting things about 1999: * Spongebob premiered in May that year * Y2K countdown * The Euro was established. To be honest, I don't really like a lot of the songs or movies that were released in 1999. Apart from the lead-up to the new millennium, it wasn't really an eventful year either.

Nice idea! 2001Music: Drops Of Jupiter
"Drops of Jupiter" isn't a bad song. A few songs I like from 2001 are "Hanging By a Moment", "Smooth Criminal" and "The Middle". One of my favourite albums came out that year as well; "Toxicity" by System of a Down. Very interesting. 1996

That's interesting to hear. The Mid '90s are personally my favourite era for music.

1999:
Favourite songs:
* "Take a Picture" - Filter * "When I Grow Up" - Garbage * "She's So High" - Tal Bachmann * "Every You Every Me" - Placebo * "And One" - Linkin Park
Favourite movies:
* The Green Mile * Stir of Echoes * The Matrix * Toy Story 2 * The Sixth Sense
Interesting things that happened in 1999:
* Euro currency is established. * Napster was launched. * Australians vote to remain under the British monarchy in a referendum.
1999 more often that not gets a bad rap. There was so much more to pop culture than just teen-pop and Y2K hysteria. As a year, I actually think it's quite under-rated. I would personally consider The Green Mile to be one of the greatest movies of the '90s and despite what people suggest about teen-pop dominating the music scene, 1999 was in actual fact a very diverse time for music. '90s alt-rock was still popular that year, especially during the first-half. I would have loved to have experienced 1999 at an older age.
