My favourite season would have to be Summer, except for those awfully humid nights that never drop below 20C and it makes it really difficult to sleep. Yeah, it's horrible when it's that humid. Winter is personally my favourite season, but that's because I don't like the heat.

Some of the heatwaves you guys get over in Australia are truly awful.

I’d much rather Spring or Winter where the conditions are cool but are perfect IMO. At least when it’s cold you can put on a jumper or the heater, but when it’s stifling hot there’s not much you can do about it and it’s impossible to sleep in. Not that I need to put up with that often as where I live it’s much cooler as I’m near the water. After a top 19 degrees yesterday, it’s only getting to a top of just 12 degrees where I live today with lots of 🌧 forecast.

Even though, i'm going back down there in January. I agree. The worst thing about Summer is the humidity, IMO, especially if it is above 20c during the night. At least you wouldn't really have to worry about the humidity with being in Tasmania.

Haha, time to make the permanent move to Tassie yeah? This is the third year in a row during the Summer holidays isn't it? 😜 Where I live not really as I said but further inland it tends to get quite hot and dry during the Summer months. And looking at the forecasts for this Summer, it's supposed to be above average temperatures so we may get a lot more days over 30 degrees this year. Something to look forward to I guess.

Yep, that's right. I would love to, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. 30c isn't a good thing! That's one thing I like about Tassie, the fact that it rarely reaches those temperatures.

Thought so. And why's that? 😜 Yeah, it may seem cooler but a 20 degree day is probably equal to a near 30 degree day in Qld for example (I was up there recently and it definitely felt like it IMO). Also, with the ever changing climate it's only going to probably get warmer everywhere as the years pass. I actually read reports yesterday that in the coming years or whatever NSW and Victoria in particular could see days top 50 degrees! 😳

Haha, why’s that? 😜 That’s the thing, though Tassie generally only hovers around the mid to high 20s a lot during summer, I’ve found that that is equal to around the mid-30s for Queensland (I was up there recently and it definitely felt like that to me). So though it may seem “cool” the lower temperatures can kinda catch you out as the heat and sun can still “bite” you at those temps. Where I live I don’t experience the really hot humid stuff much but further inland and in inner Hobart it can get quite hot at times. I actually read a study yesterday that in the near future NSW and Victoria in particular could see temps soar to tops of 50 degrees! 😵

I've also heard that Tasmania is more susceptible to the Sun and there is a higher chance of getting skin cancer and melanoma. To be honest, I never really take too much notice to the heat when I go down to Tassie, probably because I have the mindset that temperatures in the Early-Mid 20s aren't "hot". That won't happen anytime soon though. The Nine News report I watched mentioned that they may rise to 50c at some point during the 21st Century!
