Huge storm at my house last night. One of the Stations in the Auckland area recorded a gust of 213km/hr! When I woke up this morning there were a lot of trees and power lines fallen over. Today has been really nice though, sunny and cold . Currently it's only 12C so we closed all the windows and put the heater on .

What a shame — the forecast has been revised downwards significantly to the point that snow is back in the forecast after Thursday. It seems we're still in the throes of winter. I think it's ironic that Richmond Hill is essentially experiencing the exact opposite to the conditions my local area is experiencing. It seems like Summer is never ending here! Tomorrow it's supposed to reach a maximum of 32C. Hot, windy, hot, windy. Hurry up Winter. That's what I think too! Huge storm at my house last night. That huge cyclone isn't still lingering off the coast of Auckland, is it?

Hot, windy, hot, windy. Hurry up Winter. I think those types of conditions have finished further down south now. It's lucky to be reaching the 20c mark in the last week or so. Winter is fast approaching I guess! 😣

Spring snowstorm in the A.M. It's quite warm though at 6c. Sounds like you had fun Did you go outside? I think it's ironic that Richmond Hill is essentially experiencing the exact opposite to the conditions my local area is experiencing. It seems like Summer is never ending here!  Tomorrow it's supposed to reach a maximum of 32C. You stole our heat! Give it back, heat thieves!

Today was supposed to be the hot day, but it's 2c and raining as of the afternoon. It's suppose to get up to 12c before the evening though. A huge icestorm is brewing in the forecast for the weekend, and my area might get the most severely with about 20-25 mm of freezing rain. I hope I don't lose electricity for two days like last time

It was warm (11C) only for a few hours but it was amazing how the town really came alive in that brief period of time! People taking strolls, sitting on their patios, riding their bikes, people walking their pets, and the birds singing really loudly etc. when just a few hours ago the streets were almost empty. And there was the beautiful 8PM sunset to top it all off! I can smell spring/summer already, I can't wait until we get to the thick of it!

The icestorm has arrived! We spent 45 minutes digging out my mom's car stuck in the ice and trying to get into the garage. Some tree branches in my backyard have already fallen from the weight of the ice. Today were getting 5-10 cm of ice pellets and snow and tomorrow will be 15mm of freezing rain. It all depends on the temperature though, if it's just even a little bit warmer than 0c then that freezing rain turns into regular rain, which is what I'm hoping happens! But the high for today is 0c and the high for tomorrow looks to be -2c, but with windchill it's going to feel like -13c (not that I'm ever going outside )

I survived the Ontario 2018 Ice Storm! It was amazing. On Saturday the temperatures dropped really low, about -7c I think which might be a record low. We got 10 cm of ice pellets! On Sunday we got hit with freezing rain as predicted and a wind warning was issued with gusts of up to 100 km/h. Now it's raining hard and a flood warning has been issued, since the ice has blocked out most the basins and sewers, and with all the ice and snow that's about to melt it's going to be a lot of water all at once! I took this pic in the afternoon. Zoom in on the window: that's not raindrops, it's frozen ice! There's so much ice outside that walking on it perilous; you need a pair of skates!
