It's forecast to get to 42C here tomorrow. Really feel for the poor firefighters and the people who are down the coast at the moment. It's going to take many years for Australia to recover from this horrific bushfire season.

^Wow, that’s really bad...so sad for all the animals Weather here was a much more comfortable 25C and sunny today. Yep, apparently close to 500 million animals have been lost so far due to the current bushfires. I read somewhere the other day that 8,000 koalas have been killed, with 30% of the entire koala population of NSW’s mid-north coast region having perished. Even rare species of animals and plants are feared lost and could be considered extinct. Pretty devastating stuff. Over here it's been a relatively warm December, with day temperatures around 0°C-10°C. All the November snow has melted away. If it weren't for the sun setting at 4PM I would have thought it was spring. Warm weather for this time of the year for you guys would be considered very unusual wouldn’t it? Yes, December 30th and December 27th had record breaking heat. www.blogto.com/city/2019/12/toronto-new-weather-record-december-27-warm/www.blogto.com/city/2019/12/toronto-just-smashed-54-year-old-temperature-record/December 27th 2019 was the hottest Dec. 27th on record reaching 10.8°C, beating the 10.0°C record set in 2008. December 30th was also the hottest, reaching 9.7°C, beating out the 7.2°C reached in 1965. Today it was 6°C and tomorrow it will be 7°C. The average maximum for this time of year is - 3°C.

Yet another record has been broken this summer as Penrith has recorded a temperature of 48.6C early this afternoon.

It’s actually quite incredible looking at these Sydney metro temps just now. Olympic Park recorded 47.1C.

I'm about three hours from home now in northern Victoria. Reached close to 44°C yesterday, today it is raining and barely 20°C! There has been an orange sky here today as well, not as bad as some areas close to fires, but still really odd looking.

Did you go away on holidays? Yeah, for two weeks. Ah, okay. I just read the last page you mentioning northern Victoria. How was it up there? Thankfully no fires there atm.

We've received 3.3mm of rain here tonight. It's not much, but at least it's something!

It's around 16°C now, quite a nice day today despite a little bit of rain early (probably not even 1mm). Has been good so far, apart from the hot day yesterday! Thankfully not affected by fires, let's hope it remains that way. The pictures elsewhere look dreadful.

Smoke has returned to Melbourne again, however the temp is much cooler than when it occurred a few days ago, and there is rain so it doesn't smell as bad. So it's much easier to breathe since the other day my throat went very dry after a few minutes of being outside!

Disappointing that we haven't received any showers today, even though we were forecast to get possible light showers this morning. Just any rainfall would be great.

It was feeling like spring, but we got a bunch of snow dumped on us the last two days. It's gonna get down to -15°C on Wednesday but it will be back up to 6°C by Friday (and a 7°C on Saturday)
