The end of this week is looking promising. Forecasters are saying that up to 15mm of rain could fall on Thursday alone! Between Friday - Sunday, we're also expected to receive between 5-10 mm of rain each day. Let's just hope that the rain falls over our dams. Avon Dam (which is where the Illawarra's water supply comes from) has increased by 0.3% to 44% and this week has been the first time we've had rain (even if it has only been about 5mm) for 5-6 days in a row in a very long time, so fingers crossed.

Although we didn't need it, we also got a record amount of rain for a January day (25 mm) yesterday and it got up to 9°C which is VERY unseasonal.

Yeah, for the middle of winter where you are, 9C does seem unusually high. But of course, climate change isn't a real occurrence, it's all made up.

Looks as though there is quite a bit of rain in Sydney? The Big Bash cricket at the SCG was called off tonight, and the radar looks to have a fair bit of activity.

From what I gather, they've received more rain than what we've had here in the Illawarra. The part of the region I live in only received 3.2mm this afternoon, which is barely anything. Most of the rain in NSW has actually been falling in the Central West. Parkes received almost 36mm of rain this evening alone! Some Lightning action from today. Nice photos! I've never been able to take a photo of lightning.

Climate change is fake! Looks like we still have winter, even though it took until mid-January to start.

We're about to have a large thunderstorm at my location. Other areas of Melbourne have already been damaged significantly.

It's a shame though that the recent rain is unlikely to have an affect on dam levels. I read on Twitter just yesterday that even Tasmania has now imposed water restrictions to some areas.

www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/yukon-vehicle-fire-rescue-cold-1.5434069Three people in the Yukon riding a pickup truck had it veer off the road in -50°C. They set their truck alight to keep warm until someone found them Personally the coldest temp I've experienced was -45C and it wasn't too bad because I was dressed appropriately. If I had to be like that all night unplanned though that would be another story.

Feels like i'm living in the tropics at the moment. It has been very warm and muggy. Despite what those rain icons may suggest, we're only expected to receive as little as 1-5mm of rain each day. We desperately need a consistent stretch of heavy rain, because things are really starting to get dire. Sydney's average total dam capacity is now just 42.6% and it's continuing to drop. Some towns in NSW have already ran out of water. If Sydney runs out of water as well (which is looking like a real possibility), it's going to be complete armageddon. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/yukon-vehicle-fire-rescue-cold-1.5434069Three people in the Yukon riding a pickup truck had it veer off the road in -50°C. Things would have ended very differently had they not been able to set their truck alight.
