EyewitnessTV .. Had i met you earlier, I woulda advised you to give Brisbane a miss, save your money and stay on the Coast lol. Do you remember the Sizzler you went to? Was it Annerley? Went there many times! My nephews would always eat way more then they shoulda .. and end up having to lay on the floor .. after they had . I guess eating their way to the stage that they would musta been pleasurable for them, cause they kept repeating it .. over and over again. Haha. Brisbane itself wasn’t too bad. I was lucky in regards to the weather with mild (between 20C-30C) temperatures and no rain or storms for the duration, which was quite surprising. I’m not sure whether I would be travelling up to Qld again, but Brisbane and GC are nice enough cities either way. I went to the Mermaid Beach (Gold Coast) Sizzler. My family used to frequent the local one down here when I was younger before it closed in the late 90s. The cheesy bread, pasta and ice cream were just as I remembered it, too. Nostalgia overload!

Incredible to see the BoM has now revised their rainfall forecast for between 100-200mm for tomorrow in Sydney. Before it was a drought and now they are flooding! Send some our way, please!

If you think that's a lot... ...that's what we're expected to receive tomorrow! Mind you, we were supposed to receive up to 200mm of rain today, however we only got 6mm in total. Would be great if we did receive 200+ mm of rain though. It's desperately needed.

The rain has been absolutely relentless up here. So beautiful though. More of the same until Friday. Not sure though why it says 'mostly clear' in the screenshot below though .. it hasn't stopped raining all day Hahaha saw this yesterday on Higgins Storm Chasing FB page.. some of the comments there made me www.facebook.com/HigginsStormChasing/photos/a.149759021786560/2908043915958043/?type=3&theaterThe photo i posted earlier of the beach .. it's location said Mermaid Beach. At the time, i thought that was kinda weird, because I was sure i lived in Surfers Paradise lol. The old lady from upstairs told me today, while giving me a very strange look 'no dear, Mermaid Beach is a few suburbs further South'. Either Google Maps was having a bad day, or i was having an extra special blonde moment lol XD

Australia; choking from bushfire smoke one minute, flash flooding the next. We've received over 70mm of rain here since 9am this morning. Parts of my backyard are actually flooding, which is the first time that has happened in at least a couple of years. The BOM have now upgraded their forecast for tomorrow from 60mm - 120mm of rain to 100 - 150mm! As you can see above, we're also expected to receive between 5-20mm of rain each day for the next week.

A couple of days ago, Sydney's total storage supply was sitting at just 41.9%; now it is at 64.2%! My local dam (Avon Dam) has gone up by 35.8% and has a 20% higher total than what it had last year.

Autumn weather has arrived. The nights are definitely becoming cooler, I have been wearing long pants for the past few nights. Also, good thing it isn't forecast to rain on my birthday this Friday, even if it is Friday the 13th.

I don't think I've ever been more happy to see snow in May. Hopefully it keeps people indoors Dandelions covered in snow. Sorry for the bad pic quality, I took it middle of the night.

Yeah, fair point. Sydney & Rockhampton experience almost completely different climates, surely? I'd also say that different parts of the NSW coast have different climates. For example, you'd have to say that the climates of Batemans Bay and Byron Bay are distinctively different. But while there are no doubt varying factors which can cause different conditions in all three regions (eg: Western Sydney which is often hotter in Summer, colder in Winter and harder hit by severe storms compared to Sydney City proper and the coastal suburbs) there aren't really any major differences between the climate of the Hunter, Sydney metropolitan area and the Illawarra. As far as coastal NSW is concerned, it's really North of Port Stephens and the Myall Lakes heading towards the Mid North Coast or South of Jervis Bay (perhaps even Ulladulla) heading towards the South Coast that climate differences really start to become apparent, I think. Actually Sydney is quite interesting in that some years the temperatures they experience would make them a Cfb (Temperate) climate and some years would make it a Cfa (Humid) climate, just depends on whether they are having an above or below average year in terms of temperatures. From what ive seen for the most part, Newcastle and North is Cfa, Wollongong and South is Cfb and the area in between (Sydney region) could be either. But like you said Newcastle being in a different climate zone to Wollongong but in the same as Rockhampton doesnt make sense, so it is flawed. And Koppens isnt even the only system they have, theres many more for example Trewartha so on. I personally dont like Koppens because it groups the whole of New Zealand in one climate zone which is wrong. For example Griffith, NSW is classified as Semi-Arid whereas Central Otago towns in NZ like Alexandra receive even less rainfall than Griffith yet aren't classified as semi-arid? I recall looking through darksky.net and there was this one time in January-February 2016 where it was 41 C in Sydney and like 34 or 35 C in Wollongong.
