7th October High: 14°C / Low: 9°C. Overcast. It seems like the maximum temperatures are gradually starting to drop. It won't be too much longer until Richmond Hill experiences another Ice Age Winter again.

It won't be too much longer until Richmond Hill experiences another Ice Age Winter again. You jinxed it! We had record breaking heat today. It was hot but without any mosquitoes or killer UV index. My favourite season (summer) could never!  This was the hottest October day since 1949 www.680news.com/2018/10/09/fog-summer-weather-tuesday/8th October High: 15°C / Low: 12°C. Overcast, misty turning extremely foggy late in the afternoon. 9th October High: 29°C / Low: 18°C. Mix of sun and clouds. Foggy in the morning. These trees regret getting ready for bed! (hopefully this resizes properly)

Haha, how ironic. Hopefully Richmond Hill will continue to experience above-average conditions over the next few days! Not for long. There's a chance of snow in next week's forecast. But for now I'm not going to worry about that. I'm at downtown Toronto right now and you would think it's July/August with how lively it is and people eating/drinking on restaurant patios!  10th October High: 27°C / 20°C. Mostly sunny. Humid.

11th October High: 22°C / Low: 7°C. Mostly cloudy. I was in downtown Toronto most the day and I noticed there are barely any autumn colours here compared to Richmond Hill or North York (North Toronto). I wonder why that is. I guess because of the lake effect it might not have as many chilly nights. But when I lived near downtown Toronto, I don't remember autumn colours being that slow to arrive  CAUGHT: Texting while cycling. Tbh that was the most colourful tree there. Most of downtown looked more like mid-September than mid-October.

It's a couple of degrees warmer this time of year because the lake is still warm from the summer. In spring it works in reverse (areas away from the lake are warmer). According to the Ontario Fall Colour Report, my area has basically hit peak fall as peak can get (Forks of The Credit is the closest provincial park to me), while areas closer to the lake (Bronte Creek) and in Southwestern Ontario have yet to hit peak autumn. In Eastern Ontario (Ottawa, Kingston etc.) it seems they have already passed peak autumn. 12th October High: 10°C / Low: 4°C (windchill: 0°). Mostly sunny in the morning, turning cloudy later. Chance of rain overnight. It's the return of the dreaded windchill! Here are some yellows for a change instead of the red/oranges
