I thought this might be an interesting idea for a topic. What were the Top-5 hits on your 1st, 7th and 16th birthdays?
Here were mine: 13th March 2000 (1st Birthday): australian-charts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s&year=2000&date=20000312{Spoiler}

This is quite easily the best Top-5 out of the three, in my opinion. I actually don't mind "Pure Shores" and the other three songs aren't all that bad either. The only song which I don't particularly like, is "Bloke" by Chris Franklin. It's a cheap, Australian parody of the Meredith Brooks song, "Bitch". 13th March 2006 (7th Birthday): australian-charts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s&year=2006&date=20060312{Spoiler}

Jeez, what an incredibly lacklustre Top-5. I honestly don't like any of the songs which were in the Top-5 on my 7th birthday. "Love Generation" is tolerable and it's definitely the best out of a bad bunch, however I can only listen to it in small doses. It probably doesn't help matters that it was overplayed at the time. 13th March 2015 (16th Birthday): australian-charts.com/weekchart.asp?cat=s&year=2015&date=20150308{spoiler}

This Top-5 brings me back instant memories of my time in Year 10. I have memories attached to every single one of those songs in the Top-5, whether it be listening to them on a Top-40 music countdown show in the early hours of the morning, or having to listen to them during some of my lessons in Visual Design. With that said, the only song out of those five which I don't mind is "Take Me To Church".

You can really tell the electropop era started when I was 6 going onto 7.

For instance, the songs that were in the Top-5 on my 1st birthday really reflect the Y2K-Era, especially considering the fact that it contains an S Club 7 and All Saints song.

Noice idea SharksFan99 But damn... the top 5 on my 1st, 7th, 16th are definetly nothing to be impressed about 3rd February 2001 (1st Birthday): nztop40.co.nz/chart/singles?chart=1112 #1

Wow....2001 sure is old. Could barely find videos for half these songs lol. The songs themselves are mediocre though, "Shape of My Heart" and "My love" are just ok, while I don't care for the rest of the songs. 3rd February 2007 (7th Birthday): nztop40.co.nz/chart/singles?chart=1415 #1

With the exception of "Shortie Like Mine" and "Wind it Up", which I have never listened to, these songs all make me really nostalgic for my childhood. Regardless, "Say it Right" is the only truly good song on this list. 3rd February 2016 (16th Birthday): nztop40.co.nz/chart/singles?chart=4193 #1

Fast-forward to much more recent times, I would say while my 16th Birthday didn't have a great Top-5, it was probably the best of the three. "All My Friends" and "Fast Car" are pretty cool songs actually, but man were those Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez songs annoying. Unfortunately, Bieber's much better song "What do you Mean?" sat just outside at #7, while his much more annoying songs got overplayed to death in 2016 .

longaotian I'm not really a fan of any of those songs either, to be completely honest. "Fast Car" is probably the best song out of those 15 and that's not really saying much. Although, in my opinion, 2016 would have to be the worst year for music this decade. and EIFFEL 65!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep! I forgot to mention them.

January 4th, 2018 (16th birthday): I'm not sure what your opinion of the songs are, but "Gucci Gang", "Rockstar" and "No Limit" being in the Top-5 on your 16th birthday is pretty bad. They're some of the worst songs of the 2010s, in my opinion. www.everyhit.com/retros/1ST ^ 1 Cliff Richard Congratulations - 2 Tom Jones Delilah - 3 The Beatles Lady Madonna ^ 4 Louis Armstrong What A Wonderful World / Cabaret - 5 Otis Redding (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay 7TH - 1 Bay City Rollers Bye Bye Baby - 2 Guys 'N' Dolls There's A Whole Lot Of Loving ^ 3 The Sweet Fox On The Run - 4 Moments & Whatnauts Girls ^ 5 Kenny Fancy Pants 16TH - 1 Lionel Richie Hello ^ 2 Shakin' Stevens A Love Worth Waiting For ^ 3 The Thompson Twins You Take Me Up ^ 4 Bananarama Robert De Niro's Waiting ^ 5 Depeche Mode People Are People Interesting. Based off the fact that "Lady Madonna" and "Congratulations" were in the Top-5 on your 1st birthday, I assume you were born in 1967? Anyway, I wasn't actually aware of that website! Up until this time, I've just been accessing the Official UK Charts website to search for charts.

That's an interesting coincidence! In terms of overall quality, just out of curiosity, which of those Top-5 do you think would be the best?

That's an interesting coincidence! I know, right? Two songs with a Neighbours connection in the top 2 proves how popular the soap was back then. I think the one on my 1st birthday (1987) would be the best, but the one on my 7th birthday (1993) isn't too bad either, especially when you have Meatloaf on top of the charts. As for the one on my 16th birthday (2002), I personally not as fond with that Top 5, but at least Tenacious D's "Tribute" was at #4 that week.
