I thought it would be good if we had a thread where we share and discuss any interesting music facts/trivia that we come across. I don't think we have a thread like this already, at least not that I am aware of.
As I was deciding on what my personal Top-10 favourite Beatles songs were for this thread, I researched a bit of information about The Beatles' chart success and one thing I discovered, was that The Beatles actually achieved more #1 singles in Australia than they did in both the UK and the US. In Australia, it comes to a total of 26 number one hits between 1963 and 1970, meaning that their #1 singles had a combined total of 130 weeks at the top of the charts. This is in contrast to achieving 20 number one singles in the US and 17 in the UK respectively. Anyway, I found that to be really interesting, because I had always just assumed that The Beatles would have been far more successful in America and the UK.
