Two or three memories from 1997, memories from 1998 are vague, but tell a story, 1999 and 2000 sort of clear, and as for 2001, I had crystallized memories by then, but I guess some things have gotten vaguer with time?

Dec 1997 - Mid 1999 = Nothing Late 1999 - Spring 2001 = Glimpses Summer 2001 - Summer 2003 = Constant, but blurry Fall 2003+ = Crystal clear This system works for me too, because it wasn't like one year was blacked out and the next was crystal clear. Feb 1993 - Mid 1996 = Nothing. Late 1996 - Spring 1997 = Glimpses, one-shot picture memories. Mid 1997 - Mid 1998 = Crystal-clear cinematic memories, but very spotty. Late 1998+ = Coherent cinematic memories.

I think that does happen over time. For instance, when I was in my early teens, I could remember a few things from 2002 and 2003 really vividly. However, now they aren't as clear as what they used to be.

Born in April of 2001. I vaguely remember my 3rd in 2004 and maybe a little bit before that in late 2003 or early 2004. But it isn't until 2005 where I have slightly clearer, more vivid memories.

My very first memories are from late 1999 back when I did my very first steps in preschool.
My memories of 2000 are incredibly sparse and mostly blurry, things get a lot clearer in the second half of 2001.
