Wow, the clothes that the people are wearing are so 2013-2014 it hurts. The scarves are what got me. They had a decent run but finally dropped off.

These two songs were hits in 2004 and 2013 respectively, yet they both have that indie rock sound that peaked in the late 2000s.

I've heard this song many times but didn't know the name of it till recently but this was released in 2006 and sounds like it's from 2011-2014 indie era.

Now that I think of it, "Joyride" has a very early 80s new wave sound and structuring, harkening back to "Centerfold" and the likes.

From 2013, even then, I could tell it belonged to like 2008-09.

The original version of “Everytime We Touch” I was a little surprised to find out this was released in 1992. Because it feels a little older than that? Heck, I didn’t know the Cascada version was a cover until quite recently...
Is it just me or does this Gwen Stefani track sound like something that would come out a little bit later than 2004?

I remember when this came out in late 2004 thinking it sounded different that what I usually heard on the radio at the time. I can see early electro pop influences. Now this one to me sounds like something that would come out around 2012-ish? But I remember it during the fall of 2007. Probably because it was in a iPod commercial at the time. This song also from 2007, seemed to influence the background music in a lot of commercials in the 2010s.

From 2013, even then, I could tell it belonged to like 2008-09. I think that was really the problem with Emblem3. Had they come out a few years earlier, I think they would’ve done better. The x-factor was new to the US and seemed to want to duplicate 1D with them. Their sound is different now though still derivative, they should try country imo lol. I think this was a little bit ahead of its time for 2016.

I think this was a little bit ahead of its time for 2016. Not only the song but the fashion looks more like today than in 2016.

Not only the song but the fashion looks more like today than in 2016. Yeah that’s what I was thinking. The dreamy vibe is on the rise right now.

From 1996. It's not like 1996 was completely devoid of this kind of music, but I feel like the bubblegummy vocals make it sound like it's from circa 1999.
