2006 because you had classic 00s and modern 00s stuff in that year. What's the point of this rude response honestly? He was literally just stating his opinion on what the quintessential 2000s year is, an opinion lots of people on here share by the way. Are you gonna tell all of them they didn't remember the 2000s properly? It's not like this is some objective fact anyway. It's a matter of OPINION. Now if he said something like 2000 or 2009, then I would understand being confused, but he has a rational explanation for why he thinks the way he does, and you should respect his opinion.

I don't disagree with this assessment. In fact, when people think of 2000s kid culture, this is generally what they think of. Not just Hannah Montana, but also High School Musical started this year. Both icons of the 2000s. It was also the last year before the infamous Boston bomb scare. You did have the CN City era as the primary bumper set for a good portion of the year and even when they switched to the Yes era, they still used some of the bumpers. You also had shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, Ben 10, American Dragon: Jake Long, Drake and Josh, Naruto airing a lot on Toonami... Yeah, you're absolutely right, 2006 was peak 2000s. as someone as a teen in the 2000s 2005 screams the quintessential year, and the 2004-2005 school year in general. I also have to say myspace was not undeveloped at all at the time, from a pop culture perspective it blew up Q4 of 2004 and was in everyones mouths by January 2005. Also one more thing Windows Vista came out in beta in 2006 and replaced all of the Windows XP machines before the standard release in Q1 2007. I didn't say MySpace was underdeveloped, I said Web 2.0 was underdeveloped in 2005. It's not the same thing. And we can use what you said earlier about MySpace as evidence 2006 was the quintessential 2000s year, since that was when it became the most popular website for a brief period of time. And as for Windows Vista, I meant what I said. I'm a fucking tech geek for fucks sake, I know DAMN WELL that Windows Vista was released in beta form in 2006, but the fact is that it wasn't released for the general public until January 2007. Until then, Windows XP was still the current release of the operating system. I'm not discrediting your views or opinions, I'm just offering my own input as to why I think the way I do. Your view is totally valid because 2005 is still very quintessentially 2000s, and is, IN MY OPINION, almost on par with 2006 in terms of sheer 2000s-ness.

He clearly doesn't, also he creates threads that try to distort reality. It's not objective fact but some of the threads he has made about the 2000s are stuff that never happened, stuff that is not an opinion, stuff that literally did not happen lol

But here is the thing about 2006, too many things muddled the waters for it to be the most 2000s year, I know you could also say this about 2005 because of PSP and Xbox 360. Things that 2006 makes it stray a bit. Here is my counter statement - The end of The WB in the Fall and the creation of The CW - Fruitger Aero starting to be used more and more in UI - New WWE Raw logo and theme - End of Malcolm and That 70s show that may ( they both had been declining a year and a half prior) - MTV's TRL becomes pretaped - 50 cent fatigue ( people were becoming sick of him ) - Timbaland mania - Release of Playstation 3 - Release of Nintendo Wii - Release of Nintendo Ds LITE - Release of Windows Vista beta as I stated earlier - Rise of Scene sub culture - Facebook starts making small waves ( would not blow up until spring 2007) - Disney channel rebrands and creates new singers such has Miley Cyrus and Ashley Tisdale - Sprite rebrands - Youtube blows up that Summer and makes it on Time Magazine cover in the Fall - Release of Blackberry pearl The 2006 "shift" did make the year feel very different from the prior 2000s years

I've literally stated before that people associate old-school (i.e. star ratings, pre-HD) YouTube with the 2000s. Likewise, Disney Channel was still in their prime and making huge Disney sitcoms as they were before, in fact, 2006-2007 was arguably their peak. And really, even things like the BlackBerry getting popular and the release of the Windows Vista beta, like, those are 2000s things, maybe not core 2000s things, but certainly not 2010s things, that's for sure. In fact, only a couple things on here really make the year feel less 2000s than say 2004 or 2005, the most noteworthy I would say being the shutdown of the WB and the ending of Malcolm in the Middle. That I could see as a good argument against 2006 being the quintessential 2000s year, and I won't dispute you on that at all. As for the PS3, well, it's not like the PS3 was popular when it first came out. Most new games were still coming out for the PS2, or at most, were cross-generational. It wasn't until 2008 that the PS3 really started getting games people actually wanted to play like Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlay. And as for "50 cent fatigue", like that's kinda vague. Maybe you and your classmates were getting sick of him being everywhere in 2006, but some people might've gotten sick of him earlier, they might've never liked him, and some people might've always liked even as he was losing popularity. I would say regarding 50 Cent, a much more definitive sign of his decline would've been the sales battle between him and Kanye, which the latter won, and this happened in 2007, when I believe core 2000s culture really started to decline.

Don't feed the troll bro. She thrives off drama and attention. No that would be you, there is a reason why u were banned for 2 months. There is a difference of having an opinion vs giving mis information on real time events that never occurred in the 2000s decade. The whole point of me screen capping that post was to show people you don't know what you are talking about and are making up facts. I mean you are the one who keeps responding to his comments while he was just posting his opinion. Even he does give inaccurate info about the 2000s, that’s no excuse of attacking him just because of that. You are in your 30s and still acting like this. It’s just immature.

All that happened is I messaged you and said I wouldn't mind debating you if you stopped being toxic, then you kept on being toxic(posting LOL reacts for example) so I then said forget about it stop talking to me. But I encourage you to post it here if you think it'll do your case any good. Also what opinions do I have that are supposedly wrong? You attacked me on that other thread a few days ago for saying the 7th gen gaming zeitgeist took off in 2007. PS3/WII consoles came out at the end of 2006. They don't exactly become the standard overnight. 2007 was a transitional year for gaming where games such as assassins creed and super mario galaxy released. And other gamers agree on this as well.

That’s actually an opinion most people share in this forum. If he gives inaccurate 2000s info, at least correct him respectfully. Idk what private conversations you had with him but its private for a reason.

Not that, like real time events like the release date of tech or when songs came out and etc, When he does something like this I post a link below it with a website showing that he was indeed not correct. Nothing wrong with fact checking. Is it extra ? Yes but I do it because it can confuse a younger reader looking at it. Yeah, I didn't respond to his messages.
