The jangle guitar (especially in the opening riff) on this Byrds song sounds way ahead of its time for 1965. It sounds pretty close to a lot of jangly alternative rock that was popular in the late 80s with bands like REM, The Smiths and the Gin Blossoms. Released: 1965 Sounds: 1991 You can tell the Friends theme song is inspired by that sound. It's funny you mention that because the melody used in the Friends theme song is a direct copy of the Beatle's I Feel Fine. A song released around the same time as the one I mentioned. Notice the similarities?

I honestly thought this song came out in like 2012 or something. It doesn't sound 2009, even considering the shift to the early 2010s that year.

Released in 2009. Lil B's music is like proto-2016/2017 SoundCloud Wave.

I think this is ska punk (?), but it's also very reminiscent of mid-90s third wave ska.

From 2002/2003, sounds kinda like 2011/2012 to me. Similar sounding to "N**as in Paris" or "Mercy".
