Released: 2001 Sounds: 2003-2004 it fits 2001 and could come out in any year between 2001 and 2004 IMO. I remember when this Music Video started airing in the morning on MTV during camp in Summer 2001, it felt VERY out of place ( but cemented that the Y2K era was pretty much about to be over soon)

From 2002/2003, sounds kinda like 2011/2012 to me. Similar sounding to "N**as in Paris" or "Mercy". I don't hear it. It sounds like typical 2000s southern rap. Mercy and Paris are both 2011-2012 early trap songs.

Yes it's only three years, but rock changed quite drastically between those three years. This mumbling cover of the "Louie Louie" sounds straight out of the mid-to-late 60s garage rock movement.

I know The Weeknd makes 80s-inspired stuff recently but the songs production right here sounds straight outta 1983

If you ask me, this song was 3-4 years ahead of its time. The song combined the 2000s Pop Rock sound and the Late 2000s/Very Early 2010s Electropop dance energy altogether. The song will be more at home in 2008/2009 territory.

Could this song from 1969 very well be considered the first true punk rock record?

Could this song from 1969 very well be considered the first true punk rock record? To be fair a lot of punk rock from the late 70s sounded pretty much the same as garage rock from the 60s. It was more about the culture itself that was considered revolutionary, as well as the subgenres it spawned that sounded more fresh and new (post-punk, new wave, hardcore, ...).

I think this song kinda fits with the retro pop revival of the early 20s. Lots of 80s-esque synths but still sounds modern. Even the video kinda has that weird cgi that a lot of early 20s music videos have

The rapper's ad-libs feel late 90s, but the singing and especially the production sound like something from the new jack swing era.

Released: 2007 Sounds: 2013 I really don't like this song... sounds really hipster for 2007, I would've definitely guessed 2012 or 2013.
