Reminds me of the jangly alt rock scene of the late 80s.

Released: 1993, peaked in 1994 Sounds: 1986 Céline covered an incredibly core 80s sounding song, pretty much changed nothing about it and it still topped the charts in the mid-90s. Late response but I think this sounds 1990-1991 rather than 1986. This song is not too far off from her 1996 ballads.

Nah, by 1991 adult contemporary ballads were already moved away from this gated arena rock-inspired sound. Like I said, it sounds pretty much exactly the same as the mid-80s original.

You’re right, they both do sound the same except the Celine version has less core 80s elements the original one had I think.

When early 70s glam rock meets early 80s hard rock, you get the birth of glam metal.

Released: 1983 Sounds: 1987 When early 70s glam rock meets early 80s hard rock, you get the birth of glam metal. This song from 1983 I also felt sounded much more like 1987. It has that adult contemporary sound that would become much more prevalent in the late 80s, what’s your opinion?

The soft rock production still has some grit to it, and it's not all polished keyboard and electronic percussion. But the very reverbed vocals are definitely a late 80s hallmark.

Peter Andre is a pretty tacky artist in general, but this was on another level.
