Meh. It sounds like a New Wave meets Funk Rock hybrid to me, I dunno if I will place it in 2015 despite both Funk and New Wave enjoying a revival hit that year. I would have said that it is probably a little dated for 1986, but then again INXS scored a huge hit in that exact same style released a year later...

This song from 1986 sounds extremely 90s, imo.

I discovered this song when researching the female vocalist, who recorded a few eurobeat songs. It came out in 2003, but it very much sounds like it belongs in 1988.

I found it hard to believe this song was from 1977. To me it sounds like an alternative rock song from the 90's.

Sounds like it's from 1997, recorded in 2002, released in 2004, would be mildly dated either way, but the 2004 release date makes it sound really dated.

This was released in 2004, however I don't think it would have sounded too out of place had it been released in the Early 2010s. OneRepublic could have released this song.

I heard this on the radio yesterday and assumed it was from the 2012/13 era, though it was actually released this year. I thought maybe it was a new release from FUN.

"I'm Ready" was literal torture to the ears when it was a hit back in 2014. That Spongebob sample used in the song was horrid. Anyway, I do agree with you though that this song sounds as if it could have been released around that same time or possibly a year or two earlier. I couldn't see this becoming a huge hit now.

I’d never heard anything by them before. But yeah I was being generous, I think it would fit in well with the early 10’s alternative-meets-electropop sound.

They were one-hit wonders here back in 2014. "I'm Ready" charted in the US as well, but it only got to #65 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is the song I was talking about if you want to listen to it:

This is the song I was talking about if you want to listen to it: That was...interesting. I’m surprised it was that big, it sounds very “MacBook”. I didn’t find it as torturous to my ears as I did just obnoxious. Tbh it was also a little behind it’s time, I would’ve guessed no later than 2011. Mostly because the 2009-2011 era was plagued with YouTuber songs like this. Or at least that’s when they were actually popular.

Around the 1:20 or 1:30 mark, the camera zooms up into a like/dislike ratio on YouTube, and the ratio says 982 likes to 0 dislikes. Because of course that's how it works, thousands of views and you're telling me that not one person gave it a dislike?! They even have a meme in there that looks like it came from 2011!

It’s painfully kitschy in a way you would’ve only seen when being big on social media was still novel. Like straight out of a Nickelodeon show.
