What year of the 2010's do you usually see get a lot of hate?
As for me, I've noticed that 2016 tends to get hated on the most. Probably because Trump got elected that year.

I actually think it would be 2012, to be honest, only because I know a lot of us on here have stated that 2012 was an average year for them personally.

I'm going to say 2016 as well. I had a decent year but the nostalgia for that year is going to come very slowly, if at all.

November 9, 2016 is certainly going to go down in history as the most infamous day of the 2010s, whether you're a Trump supporter or Trump hater, or in between, you can't deny that his election was a day that shook the world.

Yep. I'll never forget the overall atmosphere at my High School the following morning. Everyone was scared and in disbelief.

However, I do remember watching the news coverage on Election Day itself and being pretty shocked at the results. My sister came home from an exam and wasn't impressed.

Yeah, I watched the news coverage as well. It's sort of a shame that you weren't at school the following morning, because it was definitely an experience. It's something that I will remember for many years to come. A couple of my friends were genuinely scared about Donald Trump being elected as President. I actually took a few screen-captures of the conversations I had with them on that day and it's really interesting to look back on those messages now.

From what ive seen, 2014/2016/2018 all seem to get alot of hate whether it be political events, terrorism or just bad music & pop culture in general. Strangely, people seem quite fond of 2015 & 2017, even on forums like inthe00s.

2012 and 2016 seems to be the two most hated years on the forums both being election years. 2016 is the clear winner since Trump is universally hated by the mainstream media. The fact people in Australia were scared of him says a lot in how much influence we have on the world. Americans couldn't give two craps about other world leaders ex Putin and the N Korea leader. I'm one of the few Americans that has a general knowledge on Canada even though I live no where near the Canadian border. Living in the most powerful nation on Earth does has its benifits.

I tend to not use the word 'hate', but I think that the beginning of 2011 ws not a great time for myself. I'm fond of 2010, 2012-2013 & 2015 but 2014, 16, & 17 just don't carry that same nostalgic/happy feeling.

The United States has a massive influence on the world. The effects of Trump's victory not only would have been felt in western countries such as the UK and Australia, but also in countries such as Nigeria, Iraq and Brazil. You're right that living in the most powerful and influential nation on Earth has it's benefits, but it also has significant downsides as well. It astounds me how many Americans have such a limited knowledge on anything that goes on outside of the US. Heck, some people struggle to even name a country besides the US or Canada. Take a look at this video. I had to watch this in my English class last year and I couldn't believe the answers the people in this video gave:
