People say we are completely Gen Z now but I don't think that's entirely the case. I do think we are on the Gen Z side of the transition but there's still plenty of Millennial pop culture out there. The average max age typical for people to listen to pop music is about 34 years old and typically there remains music on the pop charts that appeal to people up to about that age. So what is popular in 2018 that you think appeals to Millennials and what do you think is more Gen Z?
Millennial: Drake, Macklemore, Ed Sheeran, Chris Brown, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Calvin Harris, Zedd, Jason DeRulo, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, DJ Khalid, Beyonce, Future, Kanye West, The Chainsmokers
Gen Z: Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Anne-Marie, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Khalid, Halsey, 5 Seconds of Summer, Bebe Rexha, Shawn Mendez, Youngboy NBA, XXXTentacion, 6ix9ine, Metro Boomin, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Childish Gambino, Ella Mai
What do you think? Agree or disagree?

I generally agree with that. Although, I would have thought that The Weeknd would appeal more to members of Generation Z?

Personally, I think assigning the artists people listen to based on their generation is a little ridiculous. I know millennials who listen to the Z artists you listed and Zers who listen to the millennial artists you listed. Its completely subjective.

Millennial culture has phased out for the most part, however, you're right it isn't over yet. Pop culture today is targeted at late millennials and early z

Personally, I think assigning the artists people listen to based on their generation is a little ridiculous.. Not a little ridiculous, it's very ridiculous of a thought. I kind of see it with artists like Bruno Mars that plays with the retro vibe (and still, he makes trap fusions or features trap artists like Cardi), but the rest c'mon. Also, Drake is definitely more in line with teens than thirty somethings...

I generally agree with that. Although, I would have thought that The Weeknd would appeal more to members of Generation Z? Yeah, another really weird placement. He is quite present in the music industry for a while but only became huge in 2015. He was HUGE when I was still in high school so I definitely disagree a lot with the statement that hes a millenial artist.

Unless millennials were 10-13 in the early 2010s, they definitely didn't listen to Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift .

He was already quite successful in the early 2010's and that era was undeniably Millennial culture. Taylor Swift is part of both Millennial culture and Gen Z culture.

I think it's more of Gen Z oriented music. Except for Drake, Kendrick, Future, The Weeknd and possibly Nicki Minaj, the rest targeted towards Millennials are not that popular anymore. Every time I listen to the mainstream songs, the artists that appeal to Gen Z are more common. Oh, and I disagree that Childish Gambino and Ella Mai are Zed artists. I think they appeal more to Millennials given the fact that the former is not part of the trap scene and the latter is part of a new arena of R&B.
For one of the artists, I think he meant DJ Khaled who does appeal to Millennials, not Khalid. Khaled has been on the scene since the late 00s. So, there's no way he is targeting Gen Z. As for those in bold, I agree they're more for Gen Z except Drake and Kendrick. Drake's been in the game for a decade and Kendrick for 6 to seven years. They either appeal more to Millennials or possibly both.

I actually think Ed Sheeran's music is targeted more at Millennials, to be honest. I would agree on the notion that his songs resonate with the Millennials and Gen Z, but when it comes to which demographic his music would belong more to, I personally think it would be the Millennials. He burst onto the scene back in 2011 with "The A Team" and pop-culture at the time was undeniably geared more towards Millennials.

I remember me and @x2m were discussing this. Drake and Nikki are definitely Y/Z artist, J Cole can be in that category as well since he burst into the scene in the early 10s. The late 10s is similar to the late 90s and early 00s in hip hop were you had a shift towards Millennials but still had artists that appealed to Gen Xers like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, LL Cool J, Puff Daddy, Nas, R Kelly etc while artists like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Destiny Child, DMX, Ja Rule, Jay Z, Missy Eillot, Enimen would be early Y artist.
