I thought this might be an interesting idea for a thread. It's only natural that our perception of certain years begins to change over time. This thread will feature entries/posts which go into detail about the present time, so that way, the people of the future will get an accurate perspective on what it was truly like to live in the world of 2018. Basically, please feel free to list/talk about what is or isn't popular at the present time, any trends/fads, what the world is like etc.
3rd August 2018:
* "In My Feelings" by Drake is the #1 Song on the Billboard Hot 100, the UK Chart, the ARIA Chart and the NZ Chart.
* This is what Popedia currently looks like.
* Donald Trump, President of the United States, has asserted that an ID is required to buy groceries.
* We are currently in the eighth generation of consoles. The ninth generation does not exist yet.
* EDM and Trap are still the two dominant genres on the Top-40 charts.
* Rock has made somewhat of a comeback into the mainstream, thanks to the success of songs such as "Zombie", "In My Blood" and "Jumpsuit".
* The biggest artists of today are Ed Sheeran, Drake, Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Khalid, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa.
* There is currently a drought in rural NSW and Victoria. The Today show will be broadcasting from Tamworth next Monday.
* MasterChef Australia has just concluded it's 10th season. The season finale drew 1.3 million on Tuesday night, which was the highest rating show of the night.
