I mean, look at it this way: kids channels are geared towards kids age 6-11, and most people agree 6 year olds are in the demographic for cartoons. Its when you usually start grade school and do more kid things, and an age where you start playing video games, or 5 if you were born in the early/mid part of a year. Most 6 year olds are fully capable of differentiating right and wrong, real and fantasy, yet the age is TV-Y7. I do know a few 6 year olds are different, but by 6 most kids are already developed enough to do things. In fact, some 5 year olds watch cartoons. Hell, I watched cartoons when I was 5. Of course i'm not saying it should be 5+ because five is a bit too young, but 6 is a good age. Most people agree that the age of 6 is a kid. I know some 6 year olds spend most of their 6-year-old school life at Kindergarten, but most don't.
What do you think? I know TV-Y7 is purely an advisory rating, but it seems a bit too high.

7 year olds are usually smarter than 6 year olds. I'm sure there's a reason why it's set at 7.

No, I think it should remain how it is. 7 years olds are cognitively and emotionally more developed than 6 year olds, on average. Changing the classification would not achieve anything, because ultimately, people are going to watch whatever they want, regardless of their age.
