I know this is a very random idea for a thread, but anyway. When I was at work this morning, I noticed a few eye floaters in my vision when I quickly glanced up at the sky and it just got me thinking about eye floaters, in general. From what I've read, not everyone sees eye floaters in their vision. What about you? Do you see eye floaters in your vision? I only ever see them on the odd occasion, usually when I go outside after being indoors for a while or like this morning, when I quickly glance up the sky. I've been seeing eye floaters since I was 5 years old. It was incredibly annoying for me when I was younger, because I thought it was an issue with my eyesight and whenever I tried to explain what eye floaters were to my friends and family, they didn't understand it. I only got a sense of relief about it when one of my high school friends in Year 8 told me that he sees them in his vision as well and explained to me what eye floaters are.

I've been seeing them since I was 6. I see them against white bright screens or the blue sky, basically anything bright. Never had a strong opinion on them, I actually thought everyone saw them until a couple of years ago.

Never. If you've been seeing this since you were five chances are it's harmless. Have you mentioned it to a doctor though?

I guess I could mention it to a doctor, but I don't really think it's anything to be concerned about. Most of the time I don't even see floaters in my vision.

The first time I went to my optomerist (just this past summer, actually), she gave me this form which had a checklist of various eye problems and ask me to tick all the apply. The only one on the list that applied to me was floaters. She asked me how long I've had it for, and I said for as long as I can remember, and she said "okay", and that was that. I was, however, by the end of the examination, told I need glasses. It was due to my (previously undiagnosed) astigmatism though rather than the floaters. But I'm not sure if the two are related.
