2016 was only good in that in started the late 2010s and we were FREE from the disgusting mid 2010s They're both awful. The early 10s (2010-2012) was the only good part of the decade.

When I was a freshman, the biggest success was not getting the honor roll. The biggest success was flipping a bottle back up . Does that mean you were born in 2003?

2016 was only good in that in started the late 2010s and we were FREE from the disgusting mid 2010s The Mid 2010s and Late 2010s are more or less the exact same era, IMO. The world of 2018 isn't drastically different from the world of 2014. 2014 feels pretty different to me since I was still in high school The frist half of the year, Obama was still in president, Trump being president didn't cross anyone's mind yet, the Wii-U still had potential as a console. 2014 was a very millenal-centric world in terms of the media now we starting to see more gen z recoginition in the mainstrem media and in my personal life. With 2000s borns being mostly tenagers and the oldest 2000s born being in college it shows what a difference a few years can make. Back in 2014 I thought of 2000s babies as still little kids now being in community college and having classes with them I'm like wow "thsee kids are driving, having facial hair, dating, having jobs. I remember when yall were babies". Even mid-200s borns have really grown on me. It seems like yesterday they were in diapers.

I can easily notice a difference between today and 2014, not alot but its there. I can notice quite a few differences as well. For instance, back in 2014, ISIS had only just emerged as a genuine threat and there was also a lot of tension in the political world due to the annexation of Crimea and MH17 being shot down. There was just a lot more tension in the air in general. While I wouldn't exactly consider the present time to be "peaceful", it's definitely not as divisive as the world was just four years ago.

Yep, in regards to the world being so divided and just hate in general, 2016 was particularly bad. Also, one thing that makes 2014 feel very dated for me was that it was the last year my family had a limited broadband plan. Say, my homes plan came with 80gb of monthly data, if my whole family were to use the internet the way we do now, that would be finished within the first 5-10 days . I specifically remember, back then the data would always run out about 5 days before the month ended and we would basically be reverted back to dial-up speeds. As a result I would have to limit my internet usage for example I tried to not watch youtube videos alot and when I did it would always be in 360/480p.(I mean, theres no way we could have gotten away with binge watching Netflix like we do now ). By 2015, most people including my family switched to an unlimited data plan and limiting your internet usage was quickly a thing of the past. And that was only 4 years ago!
