I don't get it either, although, it seems as though only people born during the 1st-half of the 2000s have nostalgia for 2016. I don't get how people born in the second half of the 2000s aren't feeling much nostalgia for the mid-late 2010s while many people born in the first half do. It's odd. They're probably still a bit too young at this point in time. People born in the Late 2000s aren't even teenagers yet.

Plus many 10-12 year olds lie about their age on Reddit or Instagram, so.......

Between Brexit going nowhere, Trump's bullshit and Elon Musk releasing a Harambe song as "april's fool" in this, the year 2019. The horrors of 2016 are still performing their terrible powers to this day. This thread is almost a crime.

The horrors of 2016 are still performing their terrible powers to this day. This thread is almost a crime. That's true, though it wouldn't surprise me if the overwhelming consensus of 2016 leans more positive in another 5-10 years time. People will look at this thread one day and laugh about how cynical we all are, lol.

It's summer 2019 and I still think summer 2016 was one of the best summers for music. Someone needs to throw a summer 2016 party in the 2030's.

We must admit the truth: We will never have a summer as great as summer 2016.

We must admit the truth: We will never have a summer as great as summer 2016. I honestly loved the vibe of summer 2016. Like it was still before the craziness of the election and people were playing Pokemon GO and Drake and Rihanna were the shit. I remember listening to Rihanna's album "ANTI" a lot during that year. I also listened to Ariana Grande's album as well. It would always help me feel better. Now when I listen to those same songs I just get nostalgia. I miss being excited about going to high school for the very first time. I just miss 2016 even though I had a shit ton of bad moments that year. I actually had a lot of fun moments in 2016 than I realized.

Yeah people were just a little less crazy back then because at least Obama was president and the possibility of Hilary Clinton becoming president was still a possibility. I feel like the Tumblr SJWS that were popular back in the mid-2010's aren't as bad as the Twitter SJWS of today and the late 2010's.

At least the so-called "Tumblr SJWs" were hilarious and easily ignored but Twitter SJW's of today are very serious and actually making impact for the worse.

There's a summer 2016 playlist. We should keep this playlist in the future so we can remember how good summer 2016 was.

I know this sounds kind of silly in retrospect, but 2016 was the first year where I felt as though pop culture was gearing more towards an age group younger than myself. Not that it really matters anyway, because even if I had felt as though I was in the core target audience for pop culture at the time, 2016 was still a pretty crap year for it in any case. I would even go as far as saying that 2016 was the worst year for music since the Early '60s. True.

Heard a couple of students at school today say that 2016 was such a good year for pop culture. I have never understood the hype and nostalgia surrounding the year personally.
