I was also non-existent during the 1997-1998 school year. I personally don't know too much about that US school year, so I can't really make a judgement on it.

I was in Senior Kindergarten. I've probably told this story a million times now, but my teacher's name was Macarena. Every time I'd mention that, people would start doing the Macarena and I would get angry and violent, because I thought they were making fun of her. Anyway, since I was still in kindergarten, most of my memories of that year are very kiddy e.g. using Paint on the school computers, playing Freddi Fish, obsession with Disney Movies (especially Hercules, which I believe came out that year) etc. In terms of video games, I only had an NES and an Atari at home. It was a very '80s household, complete with my grandma's TV with bunny ears and dial (that might be more '70s) Towards the end is when my memories start to become clearer. I went to London (UK) and Athens (Greece) in the summer. It was probably our last vacation before cellphones (my dad got his cellphone in 1999 but I can't remember when in the year he got it). I remember hailing taxis by sticking our thumbs out and actually making use of those red telephone booths in London Oh yeah, how could I forget... I'M A BARBIE GIRL, IN A BARBIE WORLD 🎶

She has probably been teased about her name since 1996. At least you felt sorry for her at the time! Just out of curiosity, what is Senior Kindergarten?

In Ontario/Quebec, we have two years of kindergarten: junior kindergarten (ages 3-5), and senior kindergarten (ages 4-6).
