I really appreciate that you all took the time to participate in the Awards and cast your votes.  I'll share my thoughts on the results a little bit later. After spending 3.5 hours compiling the results and creating this table, I sort of feel like having a bit of a break from typing, tbh.  Thanks for making 2018 a memorable year for Popedia and here's to many more years to come!

Here are my thoughts on the results: I must admit, I found some of the responses to be quite surprising. I wouldn't really say that i'm overly optimistic, to be honest, especially with the events that have happened in my personal life over the past couple of months. If anything, i'm more pessimistic. I think i'm going to change the rules for the "Popedia Nerd" question next year; it would be a much fairer question if everyone couldn't vote for the admin. It seems like people were quite divided on the "Most provocative member" question; eleven people were nominated!  In regards to the "Best topic starter" question, I want to apologise over the confusion caused by the question. Some people interpreted it as meaning what is the best type of topic to start, while others perceived it as being which member starts the best topics on the forum. I accidentally forgot to include a description with the question. As for why a vote was subtracted from the "Most hilarious member" question, it's because someone infringed one of the rules of the Awards. rainbow you can't vote for yourself.  By the way, if anyone wants the category/question they won as a custom-title on their mini-profile (including the people who tied for certain categories), i'm more than happy to do it. I feel immensely proud of taking out “Gone, but not forgotten”. 😂😛 It shows that people wanted you to come back to the forum!

I also was surprised to find out that rainbow and Stay Puft were voted as "best siblings" because Stay Puft and I have known each other for six years and usually discuss similar topics.

You did on the "Most provocative member" question. You might have received a few votes for the other questions as well, but I can't remember. All the results are posted in the "R1" and "R2" links. I would have figured that most people probably have a negative opinion of me. Most people don't have a negative opinion of you. You won the category by just one vote. There were eleven other people who were nominated for the same category; I was even nominated for it. At the end of the day, the Popedia Awards are not meant to be taken seriously and are just a fun way to end the year.

I also was surprised to find out that rainbow and Stay Puft were voted as "best siblings" because Stay Puft and I have known each other for six years and usually discuss similar topics. People might not have been aware of that. Also, you and Stay Puft didn't take part in the Awards, so the two of you weren't paired together when you might have been otherwise.

I reckon the Nerd is more appropriate for somebody who not only goes into absurdly great detail about what they're talking about, but also posts more regularly? FYI, most of what I read is Internet forums, articles, and such. I'm usually too busy listening to music to devote a whole lot of my free time reading actual books! I'm also curious who voted me as most pessimistic and most optimistic, respectively, and why!

I'm really shocked I won the Popedia Bookworm award, yet didn't get a single vote for Popedia Nerd. I reckon the Nerd is more appropriate for somebody who not only goes into absurdly great detail about what they're talking about, but also posts more regularly? FYI, most of what I read is Internet forums, articles, and such. I'm usually too busy listening to music to devote a whole lot of my free time reading actual books! I'm also curious who voted me as most pessimistic and most optimistic, respectively, and why! The "Popedia Bookworm" award was essentially what you described for the "Popedia Nerd" category; someone who has "an extensive knowledge on different topics and is the most likely to devote time to researching information". To be honest, I had only really intended for the "Popedia Nerd" category to be based on someone who logs online and posts very regularly. Next year i'm going to alter the "Popedia Nerd" question a bit more and perhaps make a rule that the admin cannot be voted for, so that it is a lot fairer. Yeah, I also thought it was odd that you were voted for the most pessimistic category. It would be interesting to hear their reasoning for it. EyewitnessTV also received a vote in that same category, which seemed strange as well!
